It's good to be back.

First thoughts this season, I am liking a stacked midfield, just too many players I want to start with. Hoping with the few value picks around this year it'll happen.

Bank: Few thousand.

DEF: Yeo, Laird, Williams, O'Shae, Doedee, Keeffe (Murray, Johnson)

MID: Danegrfield, Martin, Mitchell, Kelly, Fyfe, Cripps, Davies-Uniacke, Freeman (Wigg, Kelly, Worpel)

RUC: Gawn, Naitanui (Cameron)

FWD: Heeney, Billings, Sicily, Setterfield, Higgins, Venables (Ahern, Garlett)

Sicily could be a risk at F3, but could pay huge dividends. Love the mids. If we get enough def rookies, that should be fine as well. Great start!

Thank you kindly GL. First time actually posting an image in years!

Well balanced team Hutt.   Sicily could be a great POD for you.   Look forward to hearing your thoughts during 2018.
Cheers

Well done. Similar thoughts.

RaisyDaisy

We have similar teams ;)

Like the others, just not sure the Sicily pick makes much sense  :-[

Money Shot

Midfield is running deep! great start mate. Silicy im not too sure on but he could be a great pod.

Peter

Perhaps only Sicily to Lobb, but outstanding starting group

SilverLion

Deep midfield, solid backline and good forward for now too. As others have said said, Sicily could be a great pick but comes with a lot of risk. Similar structure to mine, gotta hope a lot of DEF and FWD rookies start Rd. 1 ;D

Current team, $16,300 in the bank.

I know I want to start with 2 gun forwards (Billings and 1 of Greene/Heeney) - think these 3 will average head and shoulders above the next few but Greene and Heeney's pre-season isn't looking to flash.

I am mainly toying with Oliver/D.Smith at this stage. $1,068,200 to spend between these two spots. D.Smith killed the intra-club today playing almost exclusively mid so Smith + Oliver/Kelly are looking mighty tempting at the moment.

Keeping Rd14 in the back of my mind and trying really hard not to pick up to many of them and are holding Simmo/Curnow in high regard due to their nice bye.

Rookies pending selection, will drop Oliver to bring in Ellis if I need to bolster defense.

Nice team mate. What's this you're hearing re: Toby Greene?

Last I heard he broke his toe in December and is yet to join the main group.

Great team. I've got a similar midfield but im wondering on the merit of starting 3/4 top pricers as fallen/cheaper mids can overtake them, making them better value and cash to use elsewhere. Only GAJ and Danger types hold their rankings in subsequent years. Talking to myself as well here lol.
Only other thing is Smith and Curnow at F2/3. Both could fire in theory. Im iffy on Smith as a Bombers supporter. Lots of talk of mid time for Stinger(just read Skipworth said aiming for 70% midtime I thought more like 30-40)Parish,McGrath and Smith. Only lost Jobe from last year really. Plus Goddard,Zaka,Heppell,Colyer,Merrett.
Only so many points to go round. Still worth considering IF he can go 90+.
Curnow will be a star on my watchlist also. Just not sure id want both at F2/3 at this stage.

Ah, just googles it, he broke his little toe late October, I've broken mine, he'd be fine by now.  Here's a link to article with Giants saying it wouldn't effect his pre-season:
