Ringos 2018 SC Team and Diary

All the best laid plans can go to pot quickly - This was supposed to be an easy bye round but injuries and suspensions forcing a rethink and awaiting team announcements,

With both sharing Rd 14 bye thinking Dusty to Danger. Still toying with Bundy to Miller/Rocky but may even keep Bundy if he plays. Bring on 6:30pm

OK have settled on these trades:

Bundy to Gray
Tim Smith to Ahern
Ridley to Heron.  (Heron should stay in side for the three weeks given Suns injury crisis and whilst not a big scorer will make a little bit of cash).

Gives me this team:
DeF: Hurley, Savage, Doedee, Coffield, Murphy, Heron (Laird, Yeo)
Mid: Treloar, Spargo. Kelly, Ahern, Phillips (Fyfe, Mitchell, Bont, Dusty, Redden, Coniglio what a non playing group)
Ruck: Martin, Gawn (Olango)
Fwds: Gray, Heeney, Westhoff, Devon Smith, Fritsch, McKernan (Maclean, Guelfi)

Next week have 18 available but will await teams and injuries before trade,  Guelfi and Spargo could be downgraded if need be. Decided not to plan too far ahead as it gets stuffed easily. If Dusty still away may go Dusty to Macrae.

Before trades in Rd 14 should have 18 available as well.

Thinking
McKernan to Wines via Westhoff Could do Rockliff to save 90k but think Wines has a greater ceilling.
Guelfi to JJ Kennedy
and then hold with 9 trades left. May change though if Devon Smith is a long term injury and Dusty out as only have 18 players this week.

Phillips to Ahern
One of Murphy, Austin or Coffield to Mihocek and another up to Simpson/Andrews.

So down to 8 trades but $340k in kitty,

And could have injury issues next week with Maclean and Devon Smith

One trade will probably be Murphy to Andrews.
as for other 2 will await injuries but depending on how much Rocky goes up Phillips to Ahern and Spargo maybe to Rocky.

Due to injuries and non selections had to trade to get as many players as possible on field and then cop the injury score of Maclean. Delete team considered but will soldier on.

Seems this year one disaster follows another even with preparation as trading plans go by the board.

Looking at these trades for this week. Hoping that MacLean and Devon Smiths are ok but will look during the week.

These 2 trades will be definite:
Phillips to Ahern
Murphy to one of Andrews/Crisp/T Mac/ Simpson
Should leave cash between 90 - 140k dependent on trade made.

Trade 3 dependent on Devon Smith and Maclean
Do I downgrade Spargo or Doedee/Austin to a rookie for cash or sit on 6 trades for a while with Doedee at D6 and Fritsch at F6.

I'd look at upgrading Doedee mate. Not playing this week, and is basically maxed out in cash. You've got 4 rookies down back so I'd be looking to upgrade him to a Simmo type.

Tough one. Lot of options down back.

I'd probably rank them (excl. rd. 14 bye players):

Simpson > Sicily > TMac > Andrews > Crisp

But there are no bad options there :)

Thank You - Sticking with Andrews as one as he seems to be really hitting his straps over the last 3 weeks and a nice POD.  And will probably go Simpson seeing the ball may be in Carltons back line more than Hawks and also the change of positions between Gunston and Sicily will it continue and will Sicily get 3 goals each week. Hawks though have a relative easy draw which may suit Sicily.

I also think trading out Tim Kelly to a player who can provide DPP cover will be beneficial down the track. But for now yeah you need to upgrade that defence

Fwds a bit week but with Ahern, Ballard and Spargo having DPP loopholing could be an option. Also thinking of Kelly to Wingard for further DPP options.
