Rd 1 Team as submitted.

Lambert as a POD not really a good start but will retain. 0 points in first quarter so 71 in 3 quarters better return.

Langdon may come in for one of Venables or Ryan.

Still trying to work out VC Loophole - Fyfe into Titchell or Titchell into Gazz whose first rd scores each season have been 114, 139, 119, 140, 178.

Hoping Beams matches Cripps as that was the toss up selection.

Whats your reasoning going Buddy over Heeney/Billings?

Ringo

Buddy will be in the team by years end. Over the last 4 years has always started strong Averaging between 98 and 102 for first 3 games. Was in fine form in JLT as well continuing the form he ended with in 2017.

Was decision between Heeney and franklin and pumped for Franklin as a POD. Billings concerned a little with not a full pre-season.

Rd 1 Update:

Score 2222
Rank 27966

The Good - Laird, Hurley, Murray, Finlayson. Mitchell, Ablett, T Kelly, Gawn, Martin, Franklin, Devon Smith
The Average - Savage, Armitage, Angus Brayshaw, Walters,  Christensen (was expecting 60 - 70 for the first 2 rounds), Fritsch
The Ugly - Naughton, Fyfe, Bontempelli, Beams, Lambert (was expecting 85+ as a POD). Doedee and Holman on bench.

No proposed trades this week unless injuries  arise. Couple of corrective trades may be required in Rd 3 if Bont, Beams, Lambert do not show improvement. Left Parker out due to bye issues but may need to reconsider. Lobb may be the replacement for Lambert.  I just hope Gazz is not rested though with Perth Trip.

Happy with Rookies but keeping an eye on English.

Might bring in english to but nit sure who for though. What do you plan on doing with Christensenz? What does he need to aversge to make a decent amount of coin?

Ringo

Happy with Bindy at the moment will make cash as his B/E this week is 14. Expected him to start slow so was going to be happy with 60 - 70 while he gets match fitness after 18 months out and then hoping for 80+. If he gets to 90 could even be a keeper.

Heya Ringo. Did you keep Keefe on the D bench? Not sure there's anyone worth burning a trade for, but with Naughton not going great and Keefe not going at all, that's a little worrying? With that said, I swapped Keefe out for L.Murphy, not sure on his JS but he was at least playing!

Ringo

I swapped Keefe to Murphy before lock out as well. Did not realise till last minute still had him.

Rd 2 Team

Ryan and Murphy on pine hurt.  lottery this year as to which rookies to play on field.

Happy with rookies as all have negative B/E.

So initial trades this week are:
Lambert to Jack Martin
Beams to Dusty

These 2 will lose big money this week so now time to go.

I'm in the same situation as you Ringo, having both Bont and Beams.
However, I've made a different decision and have decided to upgrade Bont to Titch and keep Beams. (Downgraded Rioli to G-Langdon, don't ask why I ever trusted Cyril)
The entire bulldogs team looks horrendous this year, and I don't see Bont averaging over 100, and it doesn't help that Bevo has lost the plot and keeps playing him forward.
On the other hand, Beams can only get better. He gets 100% midfield time, and can only get better and as time goes on and will bounce back at some stage. I understand he's going to drop below 500k most likely, but Zerrett will hit that point too, and if he doesn't look like improving at about round 5-6 you can always trade to Merrett as he will almost certainly improve, and use him as a 'get out of jail' card.

Ringo

Ok have settled on these trades after a bit of analysing and think team looks better. Keeping both Bont and Beams at the moment. Will watch both over the next couple of weeks.

Trade
Lambert to Westhoff
Finlayson to mids and Brayshaw to Bonner.
10k left. Both Westhoff and and Bonner set for fair price rises this week,  Not worried about Port Byes at the moment as Bonner may or may not have been upgraded and can cover Westhoff if proving to be a keeper.

Leaves my team as:
Def: Laird, Hurley, Savage, Bonner, Doedee, Murphy (Naughton, Murray)
Mid: Mitchell, Ablett, Fyfe, Bont, Beams, Armitage, Kelly, Holman (Finlayson, Banfield, Garlett)
Ruck: Martin, Gawn (Olongo)
Fwds: Franklin, Westhoff, Walters, D, Smith, Bundy, Ryan (Venables, Fritsch)
Mids not strong but really happy with defence and forwards now.

Solid trades. You wouldn't go Boak ahead of the Hoff?

Ringo

Slight change as looking forward needed some cash so trades how pending no other required adjusments.

Lambert to Westhoff
Beams down to Coniglio.

Nets me 175k for future use.  With Beams bleeding cash could be a an upgrade target in the future.

Strengthens mids a little.

Went Hoff over Boak as he seems to be everywhere in the Power Team at the moment.

Takes up 2 of the correctional trades I allowed myself usually rookies but they are all performing reasonably and will make cash. Naughton and Brayshaw the only worries but with solid JS so they can sit for a while and slow burn.

This Week Points: 2,426
Total Points: 6,906
This weeks rank: 77
Overall Rank 4.264 up 21,263

Trades Remaining 28
Cash - 174k

Trades completed:
Lambert to Westhoff - Jury still out on that one with the Hoff doing some ruck work as well.
Beams - Coniglio - Solid trade especially with Beams a late out.

This weeks team:

Trade Issues for this week.
Well Abletts injury looks like being 3 weeks plus.
Awaiting Ryan as well but can afford to hold him if only short term and play Fritsch with Venables e next week.
Armitage my big worry but with a B/e of 66 will not bleed a lot of cash.
Bont still an issue as 3 goals helped his score but seems to be playing more forward this year so he will also possibly have to go from mids but with above issues safe for another week.

Trades being considered at the moment:

Option 1:
Ablett to Gibbs
Armitage to Lyons - Has a B/e of 20 and will rise further. Scores well against next 2 opponents Eagles and Lions. Seems to be the one to step up in mids for Suns.

Option 2:
Ablett to Dusty/Danger although both have high B/e and will fall in cash.
Ryan to Higgins although a week early and hold cash for Armo upgrade next week.

Other possible options for Ablett Trade - Macrae, Selwood, Parker, Cripps
Other Options for Armo - Gray, Polec, MacLean and move forward later.

Leaning towards option 1 at the moment but other suggestions welcome.

Do like Lyons, liked him in the pre-season as a PoD, but wanted to wait and see how he'd go. Definitely worth considering.

Would definitely do GAJ to one of Oliver, Macrae or Martin. Danger will plummet, Martin will too, but not as much; and the other 2 are massive pods with favourable byes.

Not sure what that leaves you with cash wise, but would be looking at a FWD prem for Arma, rather than taking the punt on a risky mid prem.

I really like macrae as POD ringo
