If Cameron looks like getting games keeffe will become Ballandeen for my floating donut. Not expecting Ballandeen to play unless injury intervenes.

Yeah, that sounds like a plan.

Ringo

Had a play with a team using Lycett as R2 and using Mason Cox as R/F (Lynch from Pies as r3 with the DPP link and good for loophole given the number of Saturday Night and Sunday games pies have for loophole.)

Some of the strategies used when selecting team -
3 top backs to go with defensive rookies.
5 prem forwrads and 2 mid pricers in mids.
3 prem/mid price forwards Cox at F4 and Bundy at F5,
Despite the risks looks good on paper but not sure whether I will have the gonads to start with this team.

Minimal cash left but some expensive rookies that can be downgraded,
12 keepers and then maybe Reddan, O'Meara, Bundy,
Should I really use this risky strategy?

Think you might be reading a bit too much into JLT form with a couple of those selections Ringo.

Will be interesting to see who gets named in the ruck for WC in round 1. If its Lycett he'll be worth considering definitely.

Ringo

#94
OK back to sanity after a brief flirtation with Lycett, With Nat definite for Rd 2 and maybe even rd 1 not ideal.

Have gone Selwood to replace Danger with the idea of Selwood will score well and allow upgrade to Danger down the track. Keeping the cash (214k) to allow. Duncan may also be in the mix rather than Selwood.

Only uncertain are F4 and F5 and 2 of Bell, Bundy, Callum Brown or Dunkley will be chosen.  At the moment Dunkley and Bundy in.

PureSwag

Danger in real doubt to play RD1. So I would assume getting Martin or even going down to Merret and using that money to improve Lycett or maybe forward line.

Ringo

Just a couple of changes to the Dangerless team - Danger and Dusty will be in my final teams so better to save a trade and start Dusty now if Danger is out which is more than likely.

Jelwood to Dusty
Stephenson to Armitage.
Naughton to Rookie (Keeffe at the moment had to this as 10k short) However Naughton may come back in when playing around with Rookies.

Ringo

Final Team prior to Team announcements.

Defence: Laird and Hibberd locks - Savage I think can average 95+ . D4 - D8 Rookies. Defence rookies look being our saviour this year and will pick those named. Finlayson named on mid bench at the moment but that could change.
Mids:
Plan if Danger not named or late out, Danger to Gazz and then bring him in when he gets match fit.
Mitchell - Lock
Fyfe - Lock and underpriced for his capabilities.
Bontempelli - Like most dogs think he had a loss of form due to premiership let down.  Think this will drive him to a 110+ average which will do me.
Beams - Injury risk but averaged 115 for last 7 games last year and priced at 101. Captain and leads by example and willing to risk injury trade for these scores.
Armitage - Went him over O'Meara. Underpriced and stepping stone or keeper at M9 depending on situation.
Rookies m 7 - M10 depending on naming and at the moment Finlayson there as a DPP with Coffield.
Rucks:
Gawn: Locked as underpriced.
Martin: Will be a sole Ruck for Brisbane early on - Risk that McInerney, who I favour over Smith, or Smith may be called into side to give games.
Olongo may perma loophole at the moment.
Forwards:
This is the line where there are no clear standouts so some interesting selections for me here:
Billings: Averaged 109 for last 5 games last year and confident that he can maintain that going forward.
Walters - Speculative pick based on projected more mid time and expect those low scores to go and average 95. 8 scores over 90 from 17 played last year.
Jack Martin: - My real pod. Will play in the midfield following Gazzs exit. Has put on weight and averaged 50 from only 51.3% TOG in JLT. Has only missed 1 game in last 2 seasons and remember he was the number one pick in Suns minidraft. Also had 8 scores over 100 and with mid time should eleviate the low scores.
Sicily: - Has DPP Flexibility and with playing of half back should average 90+
Christensen - Underpriced for what he is capable of. Another stepping stone or maybe keeper.
Rookies F6 - F8.

Rookies may change with team announcements and some minor amendments may be made due to only 3k left.

Bye Structure
Rd 10: Martin
Rd 12: Mitchell, Bontempelli, Sicily
Rd 13: Hibberd, Beams, Martin, Gawn, Christensen
Rd 14: Laird, Savage, Danger, Fyfe, Billings, Walters, Armitage

Great side, looks well balanced.

Defence and mids are a tick. Don't mind the Gazz backup plan if Danger doesn't play. I'd probably go for Selwood/Duncan in preference, but that's personal preference.

Like Beams, Savage, Stef and Walters picks. Unsure about Bont and J. Martin, but can see the reasoning behind both.

Reasoning for Brodie ahead of Brayshaw?

Would also keep an eye on Zac Giles-Langdon for GWS in the team announcements for Rd. 1, give him a really good chance.

brayshaw is a lack of money a few k short but could be adjusted when I adjust rookies.

Money Shot

Only pick I am unsure on is J. Martin and although I have shown some interest in him as a pod have decided to wait and see over the first half of the season and then bring him after the byes if he is firing.

Apart from that I love the team.

HoleMeal

As stated, nice team.
Cripps over Beams only thing I would really change.
Good Luck!

Ringo

Rd 1 Team as submitted.

Lambert as a POD not really a good start but will retain. 0 points in first quarter so 71 in 3 quarters better return.

Langdon may come in for one of Venables or Ryan.

Still trying to work out VC Loophole - Fyfe into Titchell or Titchell into Gazz whose first rd scores each season have been 114, 139, 119, 140, 178.

Hoping Beams matches Cripps as that was the toss up selection.

SilverLion

I'd go Titch into Gazz, and bank a 120+.

Will you be picking Keeffe regardless whether he is named or not? L. Murphy from ADE has been named tonight (102k).

Also, our backlines and rucks are the same ;D

Ringo

Will probably decide on Keeffe when teams finalised. He has been sitting there for when I have had Sicily in and out.
