Defence:
Works for me, don't think Byrne is a great idea... Easily could become Murphy or Mihocek who I'd say are both likely to line up rd1. 125k would be handy.

Midfield:
Perfect, not very deep but i prefer it this year. The mid rookies are good!

Ruck: Tick

Forwards:
Heeney will finish hot, has missed way too much of preseason. Definite upgrade target! Don't think Tracca will be the supercoach stud a lot of people are hoping for...

If it were me:
Byrne to Mihocek (Should play, pies like goldsack forward)
Petracca to Walters
Heeney to Buddy

I feel as though if you are taken the punt on Lycett it should bolster the rest of your team enough that you can have Coniglio at M6 rather than M5 and still have good depth on other lines if not you may as well just spend the extra cash on a Jacobs type.

In saying that I don't have a problem with any of your picks but more so your structure.

cheers for the feedback, appreciate it.

I've gone Byrne due to lack of DEF rookies.  I like what I saw in JLT1. But if there are rookies available R1, I will definitely downgrade and bank the cash (Watson - WC is a possibility?). Murphy sounds great if he gets a game.  Will be watching closely, but I'm not overly optimistic. I have doubts on Coffield's scoring as well, so it will probably be Coffield that goes before Byrne.

Heeney definitely unsure about given his slow pre-season and JLT1 game.  Will watch JLT2 before deciding, but I have Buddy as a sideways option if Heeney doesn't look up to it.  I usually prefer to upgrade to Key Forwards later in the season when they have dipped in price, but this may be an exception to that rule.

Not sure on Walters, don't trust Ross Lyon.  He's at an awkward price.  Happy to upgrade to him.  Petracca a little cheaper, and I think he will really take a step up this year.  I wasn't convinced early in pre-season, but he has looked like a premo FWD in JLT.

In response to Money Shot, not a fan of any of the sub-premo rucks (eg Jacobs Goldy Grundy), and Ryder (R10 bye)/Kreuzer (expensive) both have issues to consider. I'd be happy to put Kreuz in my team, but needed to invest my money in DEF and FWD due to lack of rookies.  I'm also deliberately shorter in the midfield so I can fit all of the rookies in there.  If Coniglio was M6, I'd miss out on Dow/Brayshaw, and then would need to find a rookie in DEF/FWD that could replicate the same scoring.

I'm happy with my structure.  I think its realistic based on what is available at this point in time (ie lack of rookies DEF/FWD).  If its a little different, I'm actually happy with that as it means my team is a little different

Your reasoning behind your selections are sound so I can't really fault them, your individual picks are good so I really like the team.
