idk why people arent sure about lobb but if he lines up as the number 1 ruck round 1, lock him in, no way he would be a POD
there will be at least 2 of us iZ.   More than likely every tom dick and harry will drop cristensen and hop on the lobb bus in the week before Rd1.

Can't really fault this team, nice work crowls!

If I was to nit pick, I'd be concerned about Heeney not training until late January, and perhaps starting 3 rookie defenders could be a concern. However we don't really know about rookies at this stage, so that looks like a good team to sit on :)

Interesting with the Simpson selection, what are your thoughts there? What do you see him averaging next year? He is 33 after all.

Simmo has scored 94 avg and over since 2009 and only twice gone under 2000 season points in same period.   Just a consistent performer.  Very few seem to be starting him so a POD as well.   only 4 of top 11 def from 2017 scored over 2000 points( excluding Doc and Adams).   Good option.    Defenders are probably the only position I can accept older players still be reliable.  Does go against my <30 rule though.

Heeney is on the watchlist and last year he proved he could play in difficult circumstances.   May end up be a trade up option.

Peter

Heeney had glandular fever last pre-season, but still did really well, so back him in again.

After all these years, going to go with Simpson from the start, good choice

SC2018 v1.3  Cash 120K

changes
DEF  Hanley to Z Williams
MID  MErret Cripps and Coniglio to Titch, Bont and McLean
FWD Heeney to T McLean/Bennell

williams 23yrs old avg94 last year following 5 consecutive seasons of improved scoring.  Should do mid 90s again.
Titch - gun SC PIG set and forget, Bont still has massive upside to him and capable of a Dangerfield or Fyfe season of scoring if gets going.
McLean 60-70-86 average increasing, playing mid and capable of moving up to mid 90 with natural progression and another preseason.   Heeney will still be getable as a trade.   Starting McLean in the mids gives me another Keeper as I dont think Coniglio will make mid keeper status.

Peter

Is there some logical reason to have McLean in mids rather than forward?

Doesn't really matter. Can sub with Stepho, Garlett, or Fogarty anyway.

Peter

Just missing  the opportunity to pick up another decent rookie - but agree your call and good choice anyway

prefer the previous team.
Which changes do you disagree with MS and why?  Heeney is gettable during the season and have McLean to take the F4 and Bennell becomes F5 if he makes good.    So F1 will be Heeney or Franklin mid season.

Merret Cripps v Titch Bont is minimal difference.   Just leaves McLean v Coniglio and this was driven by keeper status more than anything else.
120K cash gives me room to upgrade rookies if needed for Rd1.

Honestly I think McLean in the midfield is throwing me off but if you swap him and Stephenson around the team looks alot better in my eyes even though that seems strange haha.

Hi Crowls, I like your team, though I think you're overestimating Lobb when you refer to him as a 'premium'.  He played 17 games @ an average of 72 points in 2017, far from premium level of scoring.  IMO he was only a valid pick if he got FWD/RUCK DPP status, which he didn't.  Time will tell, but you're welcome to him for mine! Best of luck!

Peter

I’m with Crowls, might not be a technical premium at present, but if follows whst he did when Mumford didn’t play, he will be in 2018

Maybe, but he should be like Nank last year. Clear no. 1 ruck, so will be getting points by default.
