Enter Garlett???

Is Pickett ever going to get a clean run at it? I don't even know what a scaphoid is!

I think he would have been fringe 22 anyway. Lamb probably gets the no in the forward line. Garlett is probably competing with Cuningham for a spot and Cuningham has been playing off HB.

Scaphoid is the wrist at the base of the thumb

Well that's no fun. That sounds like it will be a while. It really sucks for Pickett because he looked electric at times this pre-season with his ability to take the game on.

:'(

I guess the silver lining is that it makes Sicily a mainstay in defence.

Nasty injury

Ablett - The 33-year-old completed high-intensity running before a one-hour match simulation saw him move freely, showing no signs of his injured hamstring. Playing mostly in a starting midfield alongside Smith, captain Joel Selwood and Mitch Duncan, Ablett showed signs of his explosive best, bursting away from stoppages.  As he left the track, Ablett signalled a tick to coach Scott, watching from the sidelines"

Danger - "Injured teammate Patrick Dangerfield was a keen onlooker, completing stationary handballs as he looks to overcome his grade-one hamstring"

Mirra â€" who could have been in line to replace an injured Grant Birchall in the Hawks' backline â€" appeared to hurt his hamstring late in the contest and was spotted with ice on his hammy after the game.
