So who are the bubble boys?

Scheer, Eagles, Keefe, Ballard, Worpel, Crossley.

Scheer maybe a bit expensive but seems okay. Looks like Eagles and Worpel are the most relevant - not sure Worpel will play.

Thinking I'll go early on Ainsworth or Phillips. But not sure yet.

Would go Phillips if you are going early, Ainsworths JS is a bit shaky
With Naughton needing to go, where do you rate Cummings among these early guys? Could go Keefe but not that keen even though I have Sicily.
Both Keeffe and Cummings' JS is a bit concerning, with all the injuries they have coming back in the next few weeks. Patton could easily return at any stage and kick out Keeffe, and Cummings needs to keep his spot with guys like Lids and Kelly coming back.
Yeah this pretty much sums it up
Plus with the byes getting closer you really want to avoid rookies with bad JS, especially if you are carrying guys like Barry and Mirra

Yeah that's the way I'm thinking. Leaves Phillips and Ainsworth to look at next week. Got rid of Barry already and never had Mirra but Murphy, Worpel and Guelfi are my worries. Cheers all.

If Worsfold doesn't play Guelfi this week then he deserves to be sacked. The entire Essendon side should be dropped!

Is it too late to bring in Ronke? Too serious salary calculator says if he scores only 65 each game up until his by he will be priced at $316k.....

Think I might still bring him in. Still has plenty of cash to make (unless he gets injured or something). I feel safer than someone like Ainsworth/Phillips who still needs to make it to 3 games...

Judd Magic

I've decided to bring in Ronke.

Trading Naughton > Ronke via Sicily so I will have Fritsch and Ronke at F5 and F6 while Sicily at D4.

I figure that Ronke should keep scoring pretty well the next few weeks along with Fritsch so they both shouldn't be hard to upgrade to Buddy and Walters soon.  ;)

Keeper27

i like many others brang in Guelfi... and the bloke goes bye bye...
what are people doing with him?? Donut on the pine??

Wish I could disagree. But I can’t

Ringo

For Pies supporters how is Applebys JS, Thinking of grabbing him for Naughton even though 1 price rise already.

I'm a bit interested too - wasn't planning to downgrade Naughton until his donut so the options are a little thin.

Maynard to come back into defence, maybe Langdon and Aish too?

He was originally selected when Langdon was 'rested', but he hasn't come back since.

Went the double down and grabbed both Ronke and Mutch this week

Just couldn't see too many better options coming up over the next couple of weeks

Early days, but glad I went this way

Having Ronke on field was the downside of doing the double down as opposed to one down one up, but that's turned out to be a blessing :)

You made the right decision backing in Ronke, so well done! However, this week is still probably a good example of how things often don't turn out as bad as we forecast.

Although there didn't seem to be any decent options on the horizon prior to R8, suddenly its looking like most people can jump on Ed Phillips early with a fair bit of confidence and Cumming could be another solid pick-up the following week if he backs it up.

The double downgrade certainly paid off in this instance no doubt, but I believe more often than not "one-up/one-down" tends to work out ok (and you avoid exposing yourself with one less premium on field - didn't matter in this case though with Ronke as you say :) )

It's situational

The appeal of the double down for me personally was because I wanted to double upgrade in the defence this week, and because there were no def rookies this week (Didn't want Eagles and need to see Cumming play two) I went with this approach because now I have the funds to bring in 2 def keepers

Next week I;ll do Holman to Phillips, and if Cumming looks good I can get him too, and the funds from those trades go towards bringing Gray in the following week

That's the plan anyway

I have been doing one down one up for most weeks. But next week most of my rooks are still mooing. So i may use the week to double down to dispose of players such as barry and gartlett etc
