Surely LDU is a strong chance to be among the "must have" rookies given Norths list giving him a fair crack in the middle. Think I'd rather start him and it's an easy sideways or downgrade ( and cash) if that's not the case.

He's a terrific player, true number 1 in my opinion. The problem with these types is they don't make that much cash compared to the cheapies. Kelly is 117k, absolute bargain, if Wigg gets up there's a 3rd year player who is 60k cheaper than LDU. Obviously if we don't get the options then LDU/Brodie are the next best, I just prefer to get the best cash generators.

Pretty sure 75% of all AFL players are getting increased midfield time at this time of the year :)

Haha! Does this line ring a bell..

"yeah I'm looking to put my hand up for some more midfield opportunity but I understand you have to be able to play a number of roles in today's footy"

- every player in the pre season

+1 PMSL!  ;D

Anyone know if Alex Morgan will be a chance to get a game @ Norf?

He has been taking the kick ins at training drills so hopefully that is a good sign. Would be as good a chance as guys like Doedee, Cumming, Murray, Keefe and Mirra I would think.

Designated kicker got traded, sorry delisted and ended up at carlton.  So someone needs to be trained up. And just for lul'z, Majak has been training with the backmen all summer.

Maybe he's trying to follow in the footsteps of Liam Jones haha

brayshaw and dow in the mids, gotta be chance

Ricochet

Yep Brayshaw is more than just a chance

RaisyDaisy

Yeah I thought about putting both of them on the list, but just didn't think many people would actually pick either when LDU seems to be the clear choice when it comes to the expensive rookies

frenzy

I would think Alex Morgan was only a very slim chance if any of a call up round one, because there's no news outta intra club matches about his performance.
I rate Tom Murphy DEF/MID $124k rookie much higher chance of the call up, because he's been in the news atleast.

"Also prominent down back was rookie Tom Murphy, who had an impact in the contest and running out of the back half".

Tom is also LDU's best mate and playing partner from the Dandenong Stingrays.

There's also another Murphy at the Magpies, who has been in the news and maybe a chance. N Murphy DEF/FWD $117k

shaker

You pretty much covered all the favourites there RD there will always be a wildcard that comes from nowhere but now it is only these bloody coaches that are stopping us having enough cheap rookies to fill our spots  :P

I heard he injured his quad.

Based on yesterdays intraclub trial think both Eagles and Payne would be above Balandeen,  Payne in particular putting some pressure on so could be a smokey for Rd 1. Could have something to do with extending his contract and wanted to show he was worthy of it.

For those interested in Rayner spent his time between forward and mid,  Was a beast tackling but still doubts about his tank.

Bailey a little disappointing for mine.
