Higgins a must if named round 1, broke the CD record with 29 tons in 32 games of junior footy. Never plays a bad game.

Garner a great bench option if named, pure footballer who is a great intercept mark. Needs to build the tank but a good preseason could change all that.

My smokey is Kyron Hayden, suffered from OP and had zero prep for the state carnival but still managed to average 14 touches. Reminds me of Dane Swan.

Mitch Crowden is another who I think could surprise, built like a tank but is quick & has a huge left foot.

LDU probably the only top priced rookie I'd consider, will get plenty of games. Not remotely interested in Dow, only averaged 20 touches at TAC level and just seems vanilla to me.

Forget Hayes, had the worst tank in the pool, too skinny to cut it as a forward. Moore is too small for a sustained run in the seniors.

Worpel probably the best value, odds on to to a Jack Graham.

CHARLIE CONSTABLE (Geelong)

Yes, Geelong’s midfield is stacked but Chris Scott likes complimenting his stars with youngsters. The Cats debuted eight in 2017, the second most of any club. At 190cm, Constable has the body to step into the AFL after averaging 120 in the TAC Cup finals and 121 at the under-18 national championships.

Luke Beveridge isn’t afraid to give the kids a go and with Bob Murphy and Matthew Boyd retiring there’s a couple of spots open in the Dogs backline. Loves to run and attack with speed, which suits the Dogs gameplan. In the final six TAC Cup games with Oakleigh, the halfback averaged 17 disposals, seven handball receives and three tackles.

Charlie Constable another to be wary of, was nearly 2 minutes off the leader in in the 2km time trial. He also had one of the poorest clearance & contested ball ratios at the carnival. Massively over hyped by the media due to his height. The Cripps comparisons made me choke on my cornflakes.

Bailey looks like a ripper but will play in defence.

Hunter Clark may be worth it given his DPP status.

Be happy to see him start in backs.   Issue is getting a gig.   Not really concerned if he does not start as need to juggle rookies to who starts and as we know good JLT form does not translate into getting a gig or having JS.    JS is probably what Armitage, JOM, etc have over the rookies.
