Yeah so looks like around 850 to 900 will be par? Ill be happy if i can remain inside the top 800 as ive already got 4 strikers players for next week so going to go all out with strikers to try and gain.

So with the announcement of the ODI squad, we will have 5 players returning to the T20 arena to now consider.

Lyon (88k) - took 7 wickets in 5 matches to end the BBL season,  inflated by his 4/23 in the semi-final against the Brisbane Heat. In the other games he took 0/24 off 3 against the Renegades, 0/20 off 2 against the Thunder, 2/18 off 4 against the Stars, and 1/28 against the Scorchers. 88k seems a lot to pay for someone who won't bat higher than 9 and only took wickets in 60% of his games, but he is in some scintillating form and has the potential to be a fantastic POD. As for whose spot he takes, you'd expect he is a direct Somerville replacement.

Bird (31.2k) - Could this be the end of Sean Abbott? You'd be extremely stiff to drop either Sams (6 wickets in 4 games at a 6.8 ER) or Dwarshuis (3 wickets in 2 games and 36 runs with the bat, fantastic SR over the last two seasons.) so how does Bird fit in? Granted he isn't the best white ball performer. 0/28 (2), 0/36 (4), 0/37 (4), 0/21 (2) &  1/39 (4) after he returned last year do not make for pretty reading, especially after what happened at the G, but 25 wickets in 4 Shield matches is not to be sneezed at. Bench option for sure if he starts.

Bancroft (30k) - Seems too good to be true, 30k for a guy that will slot straight back into the Scorchers team (potentially as an opener) and who made 137 runs from 6 innings at 34 in BBL05 batting between 4-7? Straight in for a fattened cow (Sams, Nair) as soon as he is available, which, surprise surprise, should be for the first game of Round 8, a Scorchers DGW! ;)

Khawaja (113.6k) - Will take Ryan Gibsons spot and will bat either 3 or 4. Missed the entirety of BBL06 but it is well known what Uzzie can produce. 375 runs from 4 games in BBL05 at an SR of 163, 162 runs in 4 games in BBL03 & 380 runs in 6 games in the JLT cup in October are just a few of the impressive domestic tournaments he's had facing the white ball. Could you go there at that price though?

Handscomb (34.7k) - Already played one game for a score of 32, but will be available fully after the Test (you'd assume unless he gets released early again lol), has been solid without being spectacular in his previous BBL campaigns, still for 34k, there are a lot worse options out there to swap Peirson (*shudder*) to, especially with the Stars double still to come into play. Should keep over Dunk too.

I have 3 and am potentially planning to do the same thing by trading Laughlin & Ingram back in & grabbing Neser or Weatherald, we'll see how it works out though because there's a few Hobart players putting their hands up now as well. Archer, Short, Wade all looking very good options, while I could see merit in all of McDermott, Doolan, George & DC at a stretch.

Kicking arse Koop, keep it going. My team is a shambles haha.

Cheers mate, 788 for the round which seems to be an okay score.

So does Botha hate Abbott or Henqriues? Cheap shot at both of them I reckon

Skyarm

Already come up with some trades this week I'm considering.

Stoinis > Laughlin - ODI's coming up and the 198 is out of his cycle so his price rises are gone
Dwarshuis > R.Khan - has the bye and he only managed 2 decent scores
Roy> Neser - has been shocking and has the bye.

Would leave me with 5 strikers but I still think I will run with Head VC.
Any thoughts?

What does that leave your team looking like? On face value that looks solid, although not sure our batting lineup fails enough v the Canes and Sixers to make Neser as relevant as he was against the Heat, but you never know.

Nothing really but just noticed Abbott bowling minimal overs with Botha in charge

Anybody rolling the dice and going Mills for DGW ?

Koop

Moved up to 42nd. The decision to select Roy over Billings & Dwarshuis was a bad call, but thankfully not damaging.

Got a few calls to make over the next few weeks, maximising the next few DGW's is looking to be crucial to any assault. 299 points behind 1st so certainly nowhere near out of it.

So the next few DGW's are as follows

Strikers DGW, Sixers BYE
Hurricanes DGW, Thunder BYE ( I expect the internationals to leave after this round)
Scorchers/Thunder DGW, Heat/Hurricanes BYE
Hurricanes/Sixers/Heat DGW, Scorchers/Thunder/Renegades BYE

I currently have Head, Willey & Roy I need to get out before they leave. Roy is leaving my team this round barring an LTI to Maddo, Head will probably follow the round after and Willey last.

I currently only have one Hurricane (Archer) and need to weigh up whether I'm going all out with 3 strikers this round (Weatherald, Laughlin, Ingram) to join the 3 I have (Head, Carey, Khan) or whether I grab Short instead of Ingram and continue to plan ahead slightly. Adelaide have 2 seemingly easy matchups though so this may be the opportunity.

The only Scorcher I have is Willey, which is slightly problematic considering they have the DGW in 2 weeks, Watson & Nair are fine and will probably be joined by Khawaja for their DGW. McCullum & Peirson are my current Heat players, Burns looks in ominous form so I'm hoping he isn't at an unreasonable price in a few GW's time, Shah is a gun but expensive.

So I'm thinking

Roy (Maddinson if injured) -> Weatherald
Sams -> Laughlin
Botha -> Short/Ingram

Which would leave my team as

Watson // McCullum // Head // Weatherald // Short/Ingram (Maddinson/Roy // Silk)
Carey (Peirson)
Bravo // Archer // Khan // Laughlin // Willey (Nair // Cam Green)

Good luck to everyone! Crazy period ahead.

I actually didn't realise how much cash he'd dropped until I just checked, wowee thats tempting.  :o Current plan is Short, Archer, McDermott & Wade but that could change.

Adamant

^ Ingram easily over Short for mine Koop, and that's coming from one of D'Arcy's biggest fans. Hit or miss player coming off 97 vs proven T20 gun who has two chances to put together a decent total. Colin is well overdue for some runs too, though I did use that same logic for captaining Roy and that turned out nicely.

Speaking of which, it just goes to show how much luck is involved in this game. Had I stuck the VC on Short instead of emergency loopholing him, I wouldn't have captained Roy and would be 119 points better off as a result. Would be ranked 65th instead of 142nd.

I still haven't learnt my lesson either so Ingram C it is (again). Has been done for pace a bit in his innings thus far but surely this is the week he fires.

Money

Dropped down to 515 after being inside top 250 two rounds ago which is disappointing. Abbott captain killed me along with Roy just being an absolute spud. Gin for to try once again maximise the DGW while starting to offload those international and ODI players.

This week trade plans are:
Roy -> Wade
Dwarshius -> Rashid
Abbott -> Siddle

This leaves me with
Watson, McCullum, Head (C), Finch, Wade (Maddinson, Gibson)
Carey (Peirson)
Tye, McClenaghan, Willey, Khan, Siddle (Doggett, Cartwright)

Interesting topic. Thinking of bringing him in this week as he think he is due to go big a few weeks in the next couple. priced basicially based price to.
