I heard, not that it holds any water, that it was four years and $800,000 per year.

Thats the GC offer, we don't know what the Freo offer was except that it was a 4 year extension.

I am not sure where my person got the info, but said it was $800,000.
Maybe another year and a bit more made the GC beaches a little bit more likeable.
Maybe homesickness is the next serious mental issue the AFL needs to look at.
Maybe raise the age for drafting to 20.

Lachie Weller to talk to trade radio at 9.15am our time.

I listened tot he interview and was totally underwhelmed by what I heard. He was very hesitant when asked if there was any contact with the Fremantle players.I say Fremantle players, because as far as I am concerned they are not team mates any more.
He reckons Fremantle would be mad not to accept the deal that the Suns have put forward.Of course he would, because it will get what "HE" wants.Screw Fremantle.
He has screwed us over big time. Not impressed by him at all.If the deal isn't done, bring him back to Fremantle and let him play for Peel.I am really really pst off with him.

Its always a tough one, much harder when its a player deserting your own club. Nathan Wilson leaving for Fremantle in similar circumstances though!

I think it sounded worse than what it was as I dont think he is a good media performer.  If he goes to the Gold Coast as the "Face" then he needs to work on that A LOT

Not aimed at anyone in here just in general, but it seems all fine and dandy when someone wants to leave and go to your club, but there's a big problem if it's the other way around?  ???

No issue here. Upset yeh, because he's our best youngster coming through... but as long as we get something decent back then we'll move on

I have no problem with him wanting to leave. But to leave it until the trade period was under way!!!!!!Nothing at all like the Wilson deal.Fremantle have never made it any secret they wanted Wilson, and it seems the Neeshies knew the season just gone there was a likely hood Fremantle would be chasing him.

Thats true, no sign of him wanting to leave till trade period...BUT...the trades Freo were making maybe made him think that it would be to the detriment of his career?  Don't agree or disagree, just playing devil's advocate as it's not my team so can look at it objectively I guess.  I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that if one of our players is not WA born then we could lose them at any point.

Gaffy :'(

Shuey about the only one I am 100% will never leave us!

Fwiw (little), I believe it'll be a 3-way with GWS and GC landing Freo Wilson.

Yeah south aussies don't tend to leave us and doubt Shuey will, he's always at the Wildcats games and seems to love it here.

He said a while back that he'd never leave, the club stood by him through injuries/personal trauma early in his career and now he's repaying the faith in bucketloads!
