It seems a lot of people are trying to make something out of Stone leaving.
But the truth is, his contract was up, he decided not to ask for another  and wanted out. Fremantle  then asked him to clean his desk out immediately.End of story.
Some say he loves WA and Perth, but strangely this is twice now he has left the WA clubs.
Not a knock on the guy,but he wanted out, end of story. He has been with sides that have basically played a defensive game, maybe, just maybe, Lyon has something else in plan for a more aggressive playing style and Stone didn't fit.And he could see the writing on the wall.
We will find some one else.

I think we need an experienced Assistant though Anchor - we have a very inexperienced assistant group now Mark Stone and Marc Webb are both not there.

Anthony Rock (most experienced - midfield coach)
Michael Prior (defensive coach)
Simon Eastaugh (midfield coach)
David Hale (forwards coach)
Brent Guerra (development coach)
Roger Hayden (development coach)

To be honest none of those names jump off the page at me as great assistants (I loved Roger as a player).

Other clubs:
Adelaide: Ryan O'Keefe, Scott Camporeale
Brisbane:
Carlton: John Barker
Collingwood: Robert Harvey, Scott Burns (who just went to Hawthorn)
Essendon: Mark Harvey, Guy McKenna
Geelong: Nigel Lappin, Simon Lloyd
Gold Coast: Dean Solomon
GWS: Lenny Hayes
Melbourne: Brendan McCartney
North Melbourne: Gavin Brown
Port Adelaide: Michael Voss
Richmond: Mark Williams, Ben Rutton
St Kilda: Aaron Hamill, Lindsay Gilbee
Sydney: Brett Kirk, Stuart Dew
West Coast: Justin Longmuir, Dean Cox
Western Bulldogs: Joel Corey, Daniel Giansiracusa

Look at who we had during 2011 - 2015:

Brett Kirk, Chris Scott, Simon Lloyd, Peter Sumich

I think we will have to wait to see if Stone leaving was because we are going to change our game plan.
Interesting you name Dean Solomon, not a name that was a real power in the AFL, but a good player. He gave us some good service. With a coaching change, would we look at recruiting him back to us?
I still think Suma leaving us is a bigger loss than Stone.

Brett Kirk and Chris Scott leaving were bigger losses IMO.

The point I am making is that we don't have any decent assistant coaches.  Brett Kirk was a big influence on Fyfe's formative years (he even admits it).

I think we need to look at our assistants during the off-season and start making changes.

We have completed 1 year of the re-build (re-plumb, re-stump) and we need to put coaches in place to improve our players.  Ross is an amazing game day coach but he needs people around him to develop the team.
