It's that time of the year where we find out the best player for America's DT for the season.
Who will it be?
In the time of the competition we've had two tied counts, last season was the first year one player on their own took out the medal.
Players have come from 5 different teams, most are no longer at the club they won the medal at,Luke Hodge is the only one that remains with his team and he has now retired.

In 2014,the joint winners came from the two team that played off in the Grand Final of that season,Gary Ablett Jr missed a chunk of the season and the count went down to the wire with Tom Rockliff coming home strong but was unable to poll votes in the final round to take the medal on his own

In 2015 season ruckman Todd Goldstein had a great season,it's rare for a ruckman to poll so well in a medal count but he managed to do so this season. It could have been a different story here again with Luke Hodge missing 3 weeks for a suspension.Leading into the final round Luke Hodge was 3 votes clear of Todd Goldstein and Scott Pendlebury but Hodge and Pendlebury both failed to get votes in the final round and Goldstein managed best on ground to take us to the second tied medal count.

In the 2016 the medal count was again tight and looked headed towards a third year with dual winners.Patrick Dangerfield and Zach Merrett went into the final round tied with 20 votes each,El Paso was playing Roswell and Springfield up against Bolivia.Despite El Paso getting win,Merrett failed to poll any votes, best on ground was Roswell's Lachie Neale and El Paso's best player was forward Chris Mayne who grabbed a single vote.In the other match Springfield claimed a rare win and Captain Dangerfield was best on ground for them and nabbed the 3 votes to take out the medal on his own.

Tom Rockliff (Calgary Fireflies) (R.Griffen)

2015: Joint Winners
