Christchurch trade: Picks 14 + 16 + 18

Enabled me to get GUNS English and Cumming while BA got nobodies Perryman, Simpkin and Berry.

Maybe a bit more of our trading restraint and you might've made finals in one of the last two seasons! ;)

Or you could have probably got those same GUNS at your original picks and got another GUN at pick 18. In the AFL, anything above a 200 point difference in draft points is unlikely to be accepted by the league. This trade here is a 556 point loss for you, effectively giving the equivalent of pick 33 away for nothing - its not quite as bad as last years but will absolutely be negging again.

No chance they would've gotten English, but possibly Cumming. They used English to grab 6 though, so not too bad.

So not receiving pick 33 is going to throw the competition out of whack and therefore has to be blocked? Righto.

All coaches have now voted and officially, the most recent lot of trades received no votes.

The WXV Draft Order & Player Lists thread has been updated, including the spreadsheet that is permanently available in the OP of that thread :)

I'll send another vote out once we get another 3 or 4 trades.

its that type of thinking that is making bad trades pass and good trades struggle to get through.

Each trade should be looked at on its merit if it a small deal but one side is beating the other by a fair margin it should be rejected. Likewise is its a monster trade and one side if slightly winning then it should pass even though the wider impact is the big trade has a bigger implication then the small trade.

So I'll expect this in about 2 weeks time then ;)

I had faith in this guy after watching the season of The Recruit, and after a slow start his recent form has been very good

NDT might want him for the Brisbane set, but I reckon we might hold him and elevate him to our senior list :)

Eagles has been playing in defense thats why he might stay on the list.

He got pushed out of the ruck as McInnerny is just soo good.

Making a big call that could look foolish. In a few years McInnerny will be more valuable then Menegola.

Eagles in some peoples eyes was best on ground in NEAFL Final.  He had 4 intercept marks in final quarter which helped Lions to the premiership.

Re-invented himself as a defender mid season and has really turned corner.  Midway through season was doubtful if he would make it but has put in the work and shone in the last 2 games. He captained the NEAFL side in the Prelim final as well.

He has fitted in well at the club and we await to see whether Lions will give him another contract. Should be rookie listed again as a minimum if not to senior list. Could be the strong body we need to assist Andrews and co.
