Yeah on the up, ill stand by that. Just making finals is doing nothing, thats not contending. I do hope Beams can play 20+ games I like him. However realistically if you traded him years ago when you had huge offers thrown at you then you might have made finals this year.

No back flip here. Succeeding and Contending for me is winning a premiership. Making finals and going out in round 1 might be a huge success for you and you might have alot of fun doing that, its all relative.

Exactly, it's relative.

We had considerable success based on the general predictions (and even the 'official' ones by Purps which had us last). I've admitted that maybe we did overachieve if anything, but that's better than languishing and not being competitive.

We were posting good scores and 'contending' most of the year as we were in the 8. In fact, at one point we were only percentage behind Dublin (a lot of team had a habit of turning up against us, the last 6 rounds is proof of that).

We're relatively happy with the season we had because it was a step in the right direction. Not every team can be 'making finals' or 'winning a premiership' every year, but I think we're well on track to do so.

Although it doesn't help when teams currently at the top get gifted players to help them retain their position. Just means we'll have to push our way in and somebody else in the process. Not to mention there's also a fair amount of a luck for all involved.
