47 forwards averaged 80+ in 2017, compared to just 38 defenders. Brodie's 82.2 average ranks him as the 28th highest averaging defender in the comp. 28 / 18 = 1.55. Brodie should start at D2 at least in most sides.

If Tex Walker and Easton Wood can go for effectively Picks 9 and 10 (wouldn't say Scrimshaw has lost any value), then taking age, scoring history and position into account, Brodie has to be worth a top 10 pick too.

I want a top 10 pick, but could still settle for a bit less. The bidding system spurs people on to one-up each other, eventually landing a pick inside the top 10. :P
