Zac Dawson has played his last game in the Purple.Not surprising really after being dropped after game two of the season. I think he knew his number had come up for pasture.
I know a lot will say, good riddance to him, he was a spud and all that.But to me he was a real part of the mix that made our back line so good when we were a force in the competition.He along with Johnson McPharlin and Ibbotson were stand outs for us.
Dawson was never brilliant, I doubt if he has ever polled a Brownlow vote. I know he didn't get many kick, or maybe take a swag of marks, but he was an interegral part of our strong defence. We could have used him in a few of our close clashes earlier this year.But he knew his fate back then.
A player with limited ability, who knew just how to play to his limits.He always knew he was no super star, but knew he had something to offer.
