"Matera is understood to be open to a move to Victoria, while there have also been reports linking the West Australian with Fremantle."

Would you guys be happy with him.

As long as he plays like he was at the start of this year before he got injured. (not his previous 4/5 years)

GoLions

Something just doesn't feel right here...

It looks like Brandon Matera will find his way to Fremantle come trade time. I hope he is prepared for a hard pre season.Maybe one like he has never seen before.
I think he can play , but needs some more discipline I think and hard work.

valkorum

IF he can get some consistency in his game I think he will be a good player.  He has shown glimpses but as you said, he needs to put in a big effort "when" he comes to Freo

Just a career ruined by going to GC, great pickup for any club imo

Trade Radio Podcast are saying that a 3rd round pick should get the deal done for Matera.

valkorum

Colin Young (his manager) was just on Trade Radio and has said that both Gold Coast and Freo have agreed to do the trades to get Matera home.

Lose Crozier to a Victorian club and pick up Matera. No big win, no big loss.

I think picking up Matera is a direct swap for Ballantyne.  Basically they have similar stats except that Matera is 5 years younger, meaning he will be there when the rest of the young guys have developed and we start pushing for finals.

Peter

Will Matera get a game in front of Ballantyne next year?

Not sure if serious or not. As CD had shown yesterday he put up elite numbers this year as a small forward so Gold Coast had him playing good football. Not their fault he got hurt

The previous 5 years were nowhere near as good.  He definitely took a step up in the 10 games to start this season.  Then he got injured.
