Alright, I might come off as a whiny little dog but hear me out.

The whole point of UTG finals is to accumulate points over the 4 weeks of finals, that's all well and good, but why did we bother building teams and go through this whole process to have it ruined by (some) consumables?

My point is that stuff like HGA, AOA, SM etc are fine, even the SE and V cards, but the captain card and extra player have completely ruined and broken the whole point of finals. They're effectively guarantee at least 200 points extra which is dumb and unfair.

In hindsight, I might have bought them myself if I knew every man and his dog was gonna do it, but at the end of the day, I've always been the guy to back my team/players in and let them perform on their merits without all this other shower (I rarely loophole in SC, only done it a couple of times are people have begged me but never have I willingly done so).

It's very likely too late now, but flower it, if I'm going to lose because some people need the satisfaction of a dick wave after their team outscores others, so be it. I'll go down swinging regardless, but I can't help but be disheartened and disappointed that what has been a fun, unpredictable and competitive comp all the way through the season comes down to who can play the most consumables to their advantage.

I agree, however I saw people stocking up so I bought to match them, otherwise I'd be in the same boat as you.

Fair enough.

For what it's worth, I'm not about to sell a bunch of players and compromise the integrity of my team, which I like and worked to build just to hang with the big boys.

I hope everyone enjoys finals.  :)

I totally agree.

Consumables are a good aspect of the game and allowing you to use them to your advantage is fine, however the way it has been done has removed the integrity of the teams as they have just saturated the finals.

To make it fairer there should have been a limit on the purchases from the auctions to 1 of each type. That way you would have not saturated the market, but you would have kept the strategy in play.

Definitely think it would've been a much more even playing field, the teams that had no gold or extra players to sell are well behind now and the rest of us will be too if teams start to use multiple consumables in the 1 round with a full team already.  Imagine a full team with captain card and extra player!  :o

Some people are already doing that this week alone. It's completely ruined everything.

Yeah you have some people with 11 players, some with 12 & some with 13
Those with 11 are unlikely to be able to compete with those with 13. It might be possible for 1 week, but when it is done again next week the deficit just gets larger.

Might've been different if we knew to save gold for this sort of thing, I just got lucky the week before finishing in top spot.

Id prefer no consumables for finals but playing this game last year i realised how important they where so thats why i didnt buy Taylor Adams and its why i traded in a extra player, why i didnt spend my last captain card.

Worked out that consumables would be up for auction so didn't spend any money. So thats why i have 4 captain cards and 3 extra players./

After reading over the fruitful discussion here, I've determined that a maximum of one collectible can be played per team each week. Coaches who purchased collectibles from the Auction House this week, and now have more than 4 collectibles can return these collectibles to the House for a full refund. Coaches can then use this gold to purchase packs and will also have access to exchanges.

Apologies for the oversight on my behalf, however, I believe this decision allows for a finals competition that better reflects the grind of improvement for a squad over a season, rather than who purchased the most collectibles at the end of season. I also believe that those who played the tactics game and saved/purchased collectibles for finals are not completely disadvantaged.

Those effected by this decision can return their collectibles immediately, and purchase packs at any time. If they wish to make changes to their XI due to a good pack pull/exchange, they are welcome to do so, however players who have played will be 'locked'

Crack this cheesy riddle for a random gold card for next week:
