Previews

First Elimination Finals
The Terriers lead the ladder for most of the season - now, they've stumbled to third and face a big rivalry clash against the Grizzlies, who had Viney and Watts return last week, with Coniglio and Deledio on the horizon - but Betts and Montagna probably won't play again this season, while Boston will be missing Pendlebury and maybe Goldstein and Riewoldt too. Could this game be an end to the two superpowers of our first four seasons, or a spark for new beginnings for both sides? Thursday night teams might be the difference in this clash.

Meanwhile in the ressies, Rio Grande has been a very high-scoring team all season, but faltered a fair few times to finish fourth. The Tar Heels, meanwhile, have been right up there in the ladder all season but haven't been all that convincing, and travelling into Texas (yes, reserves finals will have HGA!). Based on last week I'd lean towards backing the Tar Heels, but it should be pretty close.

Second Elimination Finals
Houston have had great wins over Boston and Anaheim the last two weeks, and are just about the form side of the competition! They host Wisconsin, who have been solid but not unspectacular in 14 of their 17 games. We had a dead-even draw between these two sides earlier in the season, could we see that again?? Nah, Houston should win in a canter.

In the seconds, we again have the Bay Area against Massachusetts with Stanford hosting Suffolk. The Cardinal have been savaged by injuries late in the season, but still have good scoring potential with stalwarts such as Scott D. Thompson, Anthony Miles, and Jake Kelly. Suffolk have been very up and down all season, able of scoring over 100 and under 40 just as easily. Again, will probably depend on Thursday night teams.

Qualifying Final
Probably the two best teams in the whole scheme of 2017, the Panthers jumped the Ducks into top spot to host this Qualifying Final (deservedly might I add - Carolina scored 375 more SC points on the season at an average of 22.06 a week) - now, could that HGA be the difference? It's a potential 100+ point swing, maybe even closer to 150, which could definitely be a big difference maker. Both of these teams have the double chance so all good, and both will host a game next week, just one will be playing for a Grand Final spot (with a second chance) and the other for survival. Anaheim have certainly had the less injury luck over the season, and I reckon they'll be hard pressed to get the win as underdogs here - but nonetheless, they are underdogs and I wouldn't come close to writing them off - look at what happened last time these sides clashed.

In our reserves QF, the dominant Nevada Desert Coyotes welcome the Harlem Naggers into the Mojave for what the form and stats tell us should be a routine Coyote victory as they continue their impressive run. Will that be the case? I'm not so sure, as underdog sides have had a real knack of claiming scalps in the ressies comp this season (and cheers also to pk for naming his sides, if he or anybody are still reading this!).
