Which plan going ahead?

Scooter hamstrung has made all my previous trade plans go out the window. So now I've had to think on my feet, and really need your secondary advice/opinions.

Current team is

Doc, Adams, Laird, Howe, Montagna, Newman (Berry, Ryan)
Danger, Rocky, Pendles, Zerrett, JPK, Treloar, Murphy, Fyfe (Scooter, Fisher, Lloyd)
Nank, Goldy (Strnadica)
Dahl, Macrae, Buddy, Lynch, Higgins, Ainsworth (Greenwood, Parsons)

Trade Options
So options are
1) Fyfe > Gaz, Fisher > Mountford, next week Berry > Basement rook and then Scooter > Best available fwd/ruck, means I hold Newman for most of the year at D6
2 ) Fyfe > Stef in one trade, next week DG for huge $$, Scooter > best available mid
3 ) Fyfe > Bont, Newman > Lloyd, next week DG for huge cash, Scooter best available fwd/ruck

Thanks everyone for your inputs !!!! $30k and 9 trades is the situation atm too

Just a reminder, Fyfe needs to go this week to be able to field 18. If I don't field 18 I can say goodbye to overall!!!

What sort of cash will you be looking at for the mid/fwd trade in options 2 and 3? If you'll have enough to play with to get someone decent, I would go down that path, Newman at D6 will probably scuttle you. That said, I think I would rather have a Newman D6 than a 450k F6 or 500k M8... sooo...

Bully

My personal opinion is that Newman will become a liability as the season wears on. I think Scooter is a timely lesson, things can change overnight and plans need to be put in place. I like the Bont/Lloyd picks although Bont has 30% ownership so isn't going to gain you any ground, in fact the opposite is true. I would probably go Stef Martin/Lloyd this week and then hit up Neale next week.

Are you worried about Stef at all wato with Archie lingering? I know he tonned up against us dreadful Dockers last week but as I said, we were dreadful. I'm in a very similar boat (although 200 spots back and out of contention) and looking at Stef given he is cheap and lets me get Gaz/Dusty for Fyfe.

Surely Archie doesn't hand around all season  ???

Would be looking at $200k in the bank. Mm it's all about Newman isn't it.

I agree which is why I would love Lloyd but it's another precious trade. Don't think I could go both Lloyd and Stef this week, plus Archie in the team doesn't fill me with confidence if I was going down the Stef route. Don't really want Bont at all but he's cheap and indeed, everyone above me would have him. All options are aimed at getting Gawn in upon return in 2 weeks.. Neale could definitely be an option

Super worried. He scored 60 odd just the week before against better opposition in Collingwood. Imagine what could happen against PA this week if he splits the ruck time....

With Option 1 and Newman, I would have cash available so could wait another few weeks and still grab Lloyd.

5 trades for the last 10, wait 2/3 and then have 4 for the last 7/8 weeks. Aim to burn a trade every 2 weeks if that makes sense.

200k seems plenty, though have to factor in if you want Gawn too. If you could get Bont and Lloyd, then still end up with Scooter+200k, that should be 550+k, that's decent. Though it empties your account, if you still need money for Gawn, it's tricky.

His last few scores against Port are: 68 (this year, rucking Solo against Paddy), 119 (last year, Solo, no Paddy) and 76 (2015, Solo against Paddy/Lobbe).

There is always Kruzer/Beams but that is just asking for a whole lot of injury burns.

Problem is I'm about 10k short of a Bont swap so would need cash elsewhere this week. And there's isnt much available. But if I was able to do (which I can't) then I'd have like 260k available. The scenario to make that happen with same trades would mean I have Scooter + $100k so like 470k available for a RUC/FWD

_wato

So really if you have no idea what is going on this is it

Same amount of trades

Bont + Lloyd + (450k RUC/FWD) + Berry D7 cover v Ablett + Newman + (570k RUC/FWD) + Ryan D7 cover

Wow. Still tough. Player for plyer, GAJ > Bont, Lloyd > Newman, 570k > 450k :P. I think the difference between Bont and GAJ is likely to be either the same or greater than Newman vs Lloyd, So GAJ + Newman should have it, esp when you factor in that you should be able to get pretty much any Ruck/Fwd for 570k. BUT, will GAJ play out the year?? That's the real question. GAJ 125 over 8 games is worse than Bont 105 over 10 games...

Balls to the wall I think, Ablett/Newman/570k. Can't predict whether a player will or wont stay on the park, and I think in terms of points that will definitely get you more.

Think Bont is due to hit some better scoring and Lloyd has been very consistent so that is my choice

I think there's a 10ppg difference between a $450k R/F and a $550k ruck.  Could be a 20ppg difference if that ruck is Gawn.

I'd ride Newman until the wheels fall off (which may very well be in a fortnight).  Just hope it isn't.

Gaz and Gawn by far have the most potential to hurt you.  Newman may cost you an extra trade down the line but I think that's a worthwhile investment.

_wato

I think I'm gonna go Gaz and Gawn.

Risky but it's a move that will either make or break my year. Bont and Lloyd is safe but doesn't gain me any points on the leaders.

Re Newman worse comes to worse I still have JJ who will be 390k next week to bring in if cash doesn't allow and Newman is dropped. That could potentially be a move in 3/4 weeks if I want to
