I'm still going ahead with planned trades

Will field Greenwood at M8 to cover Scooter next week, but have the cash in the bank to upgrade him next week if it turns out to be a 3+ hammy

The complication for me is that I only have the funds over the next while to upgrade in either my defense or midfield. I had planned to have Scooter at M8 until later in the season when i could get some more $$.. It comes down to would I rather:

- Upgrade SPP to Docherty and loophole Greenwood/Cousins till Scooter comes back (skip on rocky for now)
- Upgrade Selwood to Rocky and play Newman at D6 for awhile (skip on Docherty for now)

Thoughts?

What happens to Newman in the 1st option?

I think if you're strapped for cash you have to wait for Scooter to come back (hammy didn't look bad) and cycle that 44 out.  Greenwood should be serviceable for a week or 2.

With the first option, Newman becomes D7

EDIT: Actually with the first option Newman could also be part of the loophole due to having Hibberd DPP in mids and Sydney playing early rounds 14 & 15. If Newman does well, I could shift Adams to M8

Heeney vs. Riewoldt (StK) vs. Lynch (GC) as Steel replacement?

I'd go with Heeney, been killing it recently

RaisyDaisy

Initially I was going to do

SPP to Ryan
Fyfe to Bont
Steele to Stef

Next week Stewart to Lloyd

This meant I would avoid Scooter's 44 too however it also means Scooter will be my M8 meaning I need to field Greenwood next week

Do I do this option instead:

SPP to Ryan
Steele to Bont

Next week Stewart to Lloyd

This means Fyfe becomes M8 and Scooter moves to M9, and I field Greenwood at F6 instead. Having Scooter at M9 gives me time to see how long he will be out, and I can use him to get my final forward (which would be Gawn or Stef as will move Nank back to forwards)

So, Option 1 uses 4 trades, team complete but Scooter M8 and Option 2 uses 3 trades, team near complete but Greenwood at F6 and Scooter as bench cover

I would say Option 2 as it  is less trades which are golden, however are you sure Stewart to Lloyd next week is the most financially beneficial? (considering their BE's)
Wouldn't that trade be better the week after??

RaisyDaisy

The benefit of Option 2 is that if Scooter is long term I have cash to upgrade him instead of Stewart to Lloyd

Wouldn't be too bad actually having Stewart, Shaz and Ryan filling D8

Reckon I'll go with Option 2 and cop the rubbish Scooter score this round (And Bolton's which is inevitable too)

If Scooter is 3+ he becomes Gawn/Stef. If not, I'll bring in Lloyd

Sorted

For now lol

So basically just SPP or Selwood to Rocky or Docherty.  If Newman is going to be playing either way I think you have to go for the higher averaging player, Rocky.

Higher average vs better consistency?

I'm leaning towards getting Doc, more for it gives me flexibility looping D6/M8

Jay Kennedy-Harris.  He was an emergency last week after 40 touches in the VFL but didn't get named this week.
