The reason why he doesn't get tagged is because he plays for Carlton who simply aren't that good. It's not like with a Shaw who, in the past, if you tagged him it would effect GWSs chances of winning a game. You can (and should) beat Carlton without having to tag any players. Once Carlton become a decent team he'll get more attention

The top of the table team that Carlton just beat might put a defensive forward on him if they had their time over again

Yep, just gotta hope that the Blues don't beat any of the top teams with Docherty having a blinder. Because, if SOMEHOW that were to happen, teams might take the Blues a bit more seriously, and put more time into Sammy D.

So yeah, fingers crossed.

They don't really have (a good) one, which is a problem in general for them, that there forwards don't put on enough defensive pressure.

Torpedo10

I've started him the last two years, and he won't be leaving. Ever.

That said, a forward tag doesn't worry me as much because he will still get the kick outs most of the time and he knows how to move in the midfield as he did against North so they'd have to be a damn good tag.

Grufflez

I'll quote myself from the preseason, ''Docherty is the new BJ'' (Brendon Goddard) of our backlines, locked for years to come.

Grazz

A Defender that scores like a midfielder, gotta have that he is a must have.

Hawka

at the start of the season i thought Shaw or Doc, guess who i picked  ::)
Have doc now doe

The funny thing is, if he averages 115-120 for the year I probably won't start him next year either because he will be worth too much and I'll be worried of a drop off haha ::)

Ditto haha

Worth noting though that his season low price was in round 5, and only 20k lower than starting... So there's that haha

tkringle

going to have to bite the bullet and bring him in..

trading SPP out for him

I know I should, but really struggling to commit to spending $600K on a defender!

Considering a Roberton type instead and save the $100k for my future M8 upgrade..

Thoughts?

Thinking the same thing and bring in Robertson instead who will come down in price by $10k. So the $100k would be very handy. As a luxury trade before finals I can trade Shaw to Doc.
