Im one of the guys that thought he may not hold his 2016 avg and expected a price drop, currently am running with Adams Laird Rance Roberton and Zac williams.

Should i save my last spot for him or would a simmo/shaw type be serviceable at their price

At some stage

So for cash league players, what for him to drop a bit, or be about to go up a lot, or until you have snapped up other bargain premiums - assuming you are safely in your finals

I'd be tempted to jump on Lloyd in a few weeks instead, and pass on Docherty.

But he has been flowering huuuge this year.

If the money saved by getting Lloyd over Doch allows you to make a big upgrade elsewhere I'd consider it

If not, Dochers is a must

If you want the highest averaging back till this point the answer is yes

Dochers putting up mid prem numbers in defense, but also at mid prem prices. With that said, his low or the season is 91, I reckon that's a must have in my books. Doesn't really matter where he is on your park, a player averaging 113 with a window of 91-149, get on board. But I would wait a week or two and hope he comes down a little, a37 out of his rolling average should bring him down a bit, esp if he goes 90-100 this week.

His price has been high all season, similar to last year. This has made it difficult to bring in. Next year I will 100% be starting him and not Shaw. What a mistakatomaker.
Back to OP ... short answer yes.Long answer if you don't have Lloyd then him after two more games is the better plan and see on Docherty after that. It's sort of what I'm doing but with Adams not Docherty.
Will give me the perfect defence if I can accomplish it.
Docherty, Adams, Laird, Roberton, Hibberd, Shaw with Lloyd mid/dpp as further cover...will have one or both reserves with dpp Perryman and Berry

all else being equal, Doch probably for the next 4 - 5 years

then carlton might go from bad to mediocre, and then i'll reassess

Yep!

Comes in this week and i don't care that i have to pay 596k either!

He is scoring better than some midfielders at the moment!

Maybe later in the year I would upgrade Macmillan to Dochers but I will wait till I get to full premo first. Too expensive for me at this stage.

I'm bringing Hibberd and JJ in this week.

I didn't start Shaw so to buy him for 150k cheaper than Dochers is they way I'd prefer to go next week.

Adams, Laird, Hibberd, JJ, Shaw, Macmillan from next week as D1 to D6 not too bad.

Doch and Shaw also have a 26 point difference in average, no idea why anyone would want to bring him in.

My plan was to observe Docherty up to his bye and if he was sustaining his scores bring him in after the bye.  I was one who was worried whether he could keep it up and willing to admit he has surprised. Bringing him now as per plan so with my SC luck this year he will start to slow down.
