I'd like to ask a question about this. Typically, in other comps like this, emergencies are listed in preferential order on a separate line whereas in this method best demonstrated by JV, it's a little too convenient for him to kinda just pull Gunno's score even though he was forward emg before Tippett wasn't selected and Breust was a late out. Obviously, there's not a lot that can be done in the sense that it's JV's word that he'd have named Gunno first but surely we enforce one way or the other of naming emergencies.

fanTCfool

The rules of UTG state "one emergency per position" so my interpretation is that JV receives 0 for his utility spot.

Breust was the emergency for the utility position, and scored 0 as did Tippett.

Harsh, but I believe that it is how it should be, it gets a little complicated with the involvement of the utility where any player can theoretically cover it though.

Wasn't much I could do as I only knew about the Breust out before games on sat morning which is when I had to reshuffle with what players I had playing.  I don't see the point in just listing emergencies down the bottom as you need an emergency for each line, can't have 3 defender emergencies and slip one into the forward spot (I'm sure thats not what you're saying).  I feel I've adjusted my team fairly based on OUTS, if you look at my team I basically had noone that could fit into that utility spot except for Gunston as Jenkins had already played, it also left me with no forward emergency which could've worked out the opposite for me if Wight or Lynch were late out's.  So it works both ways, but happy to take whatever ruling is given.

Fair enough, I guess this would change if I had named Tippett and Breust and they both were omitted when teams were first announced, then I'd assume I could put in another emergency in place of Breust?

It allows you to set a preference for those who share the same positions through DPPs, so let's say I have Acres 1st emergency and Mundy 2nd emergency, Acres would cover a midfield donut before Mundy. Also if I only have 3 leftover players left, and they all happen to be defenders, I'll just name all 3 in case I have multiple late outs in defence. And again, if I just have the 1, my 1st listed will cover that donut.

Your method was perfectly fine until we introduced the utility spot for the byes, because there is no set 'utility position' to cover a player listed there haha, as all of Gunston, Mayes, and SPP can cover that position.
