Love how it's Day 6 and we're already hearing the "We've been together since Day 1"  ;D

Not sure why, but struggling to get into this season. Feels like each episode is rushed, and I'm not just that interested in any of the contestants so far  :-\

same think it's cause i not found a character i like yet

Pretty sure I feel like this at the start of every season, and then by halfway I'm fully invested.  Hoping the same thing happens here.

Yeah me too, 80 minutes of content isn't enough time to really get to know 18 characters properly. Definitely feeling the same as MvGX - early on there were a few slightly likeable and a few slightly interesting characters but nothing too much, and in the end we got some real classic characters (David, Zeke, Michaela, Jessica, Brett, Jay...)

Yep slow start. I feel like I'm being pushed into liking Ryan which is ok because I do like him, no one else jumps out at me.

Nige

It's definitely a weird start.

The first episode was super rushed and this past episode just felt like they were trying to set up a lot of characters, strategy and all that which is why there was no separate reward challenge.

I'm getting this weird Kaoh Rong meets MvGX vibe at the moment, and I'm not even totally sure why the vibe of the former season is coming off. But yeah, that's happening.

As far as characters, we're definitely being pushed to like Ryan, which is fine by me because I am enjoying him. Chrissy's giving off a distinct Denise Stapley vibe and I love it. Looks like she's got real social and strategic chops which is nice. I love how crazy Alan is (even if it's an act), Ben's our laidback and funny presence. Ali is really growing on me as well. Joe's basically like Tony lite and is definitely going to flame out pre-merge. Also, I really don't want a Jessica and Cole showmance but I feel like it could happen, which isn't good news for my winner pick in Jessica.

Screens Wed US, Thurs Aust, Sat NZ... only a couple of days behind this season. For the last 5 or more seasons they've screened all episodes daily midweek as a lead in to the news and had it all done and dusted in 2-3 weeks. As such I avoided these threads due to spoilers.
Only have to wait until I've watched it each Saturday now.
Ali looks smart and has social skills.
Chrissy comes across really well and looks like she could go deep into the game.
Ben and Devon are likeable as well.
Ryan is centre stage and agree with the comments about Joe as being a milder version of Tony.
Can't see Lauren going far and looks like Alan has shot himself in the foot.

The early merge, the "disadvantage" and immunity idol made it another interesting tribal council.
Not surprised about who went home, just how it played out.

Nige

Well, this season has been pretty surprising thus far. I'm actually enjoying it. There are some fantastic characters in this cast which is really helping too. I really like the tribe swap at 15, it's changed the dynamic quite a bit. I think the NuYawa tribe is pretty strong and I'd be surprised to see them lose before merge.

RaisyDaisy

I'm the opposite, still struggling to really get into this season at all

Glad Alan got booted, but overall I'm just not excited about this season at all so far but I'll keep watching and hopefully that changes

With you on this RD,  caught up on the missed episodes and seems dull compared to the Aussie series we just watched.   Are the Yanks a lot softer than our mob, or is it my imagination.

I too am liking it - obviously four episodes is a small sample size but the players have been good, even though the HHH premise still sucks so they've not targeted it much unlike BBB, MvGX, etc. Patrick will be missed because he was good tv, but the other three vote outs have been fine. That last tribal council was very entertaining, no surprise that Tony Jr idols somebody out at his second tribal council.

This season's just really different to what I was expecting, but in good way.

I haven't loved the boot order thus far, because I've liked just about everyone booted to some extent for some reason or another (with the exception of Katrina because we didn't even get to know her).

This cast is fantastic though. I don't really dislike anyone at all and I'd actually more or less be okay with any of them winning too.

There's a lot to play out in this merge though, and characters might head one way or the other, but I'm well on truly on board for the ride no matter where it goes.

However, I can see why people aren't so thrilled with the season, especially after we were spoiled with a really good season of Australian Survivor.

My thoughts exactly. Nailed it Nige!

Nige

Yeah, this boot order is heartbreaking but I'm loving this cast so it's still making up for it.

Really weird but interesting season and I still don't really know how it's gonna play out. Makes sense that Joe and Cole are probably picked off next but who knows really. Dr Mike is probably safe due to his idol and ties with Ben and Lauren.

At this stage I'm thinking Devon might win but I really can't be sure.

RaisyDaisy

Devon is my pick to win from here, but that's just because he reminds me of a young Chevy Chase  ;D
