Which Lynch to get in a Pinch

ok so I reckon the lynch guys are the best upcoming pick ups and just wanted to discuss them, which to go if you can only get 1 and any better pick ups.

Crows Lynch: Was averaging 94 from his first 6 games when crows where flying before he got knocked out against the roos he had 10 touches 2 marks and a tackle for 50SC points and it wasnt even half way through the game so probably on track for 100.

Then as is common he was bad the week after a concussion and really shouldnt have played for a 45 despite picking up 16 touches 5 marks and 3 tackles.

he went 91 and 87 the two years prior missing only 1 game each year.

Now the good news is that he is about to be very very cheap. he is priced at 430k and with a 143 BE he might fall even further. He is playing brisbane so he may have a big game but surely if he goes 120+ you feel very very good about picking him up at 425k-440k

has the round 13 bye which is good as Dahl Macrae Buddy Nroo Steele etc.. are all round 11.

not sure how long it will take to recover from the concussion but you would think 3 weeks rest might be enough.

GC Lynch:

Ok so he has the bye this week and has no injury whatsoever. He put up a shocking 29 on the weekend and unlike last year where he finished the season basically going 90-110 every week he looks much more of a rollercoaster with 2 sub 50 scores now.

The biggest benefit is he will have had the bye already but probably isnt the best pick up for a few more weeks because he has the 29 in his average.

490k now will be 470k in 2 weeks and then 450k in 3 weeks.

basically same as Crows lynch last 2 years with 89 93 and now 91.

Now i can potentially get both but im bringing in Henney as my 5th forward this week (mainly so i dont have to play balic or parsons as they are killing me).

GC lynch maybe has more upside and the bye is better but crows lynch if he is back to 100% is better value. I may pick up Crows lynch next week and then gc lynch in 3 weeks and move Dahl as my m8.

Just wanted some discussion on these guys. As i think they certainly need to be considered.

Not a bad shout. My prem forwards are Dahl, Macrae, NRoo, and Nankervis. I've missed Yeo and not 100% sure I'll go there, although the numbers are hard to ignore. I'd prefer not to get Greene. This brings guys like Lynch from GC, JJK, Franklin, even possibly Wingard  :o onto my radar.

At this stage my plan now is to leave this decision as late as I can and play Taranto at F6. My thinking at the moment is that I'll try to get a JJK if I can do so at a reasonable price for F5. For F6 I'm willing to pull the trigger on Yeo if he shows for another 5 rounds or so he's the real deal - likewise for Wingard - and if not I'll probably look for bargains like the ones you're talking about then.

I don't love Wingard as a prem and still very unconvinced by Port so heaps of decisions to make still

All valid points, so I guess it just comes down to whether or not you think they will be Top 8-10

Personally, I've got Yeo, Dahl, Macrae, Heeney, Nank and Steele which I'm pretty happy with. Started with Steele, and I think he can hold down F6

I might try and grab another fallen prem later in the year just for cover, and the Lynch's are solid options but hopefully I can get a fallen prem mid instead in the 450-520k mark which I would rather, meaning I can use that guy and Steele etc to swing/cover

well my suggestion is always pick up a m9 f7 swingman.

now people think that always means get a F/M for that role, you actually can have a Forward only for that role. So say you have Lynch at F7 and then you have a midfield miss, you just switch Dahl into the mid and put Lynch onto the field and that way Lynch is a m9 F7.

at 420k you are getting fantastic value and also given he is a key forward he is amazing for loopholes.

im loading up with cash going Rocky otten to Henney Myers.

so Bareett to Lynch for 150k-200k seems a no brainer with the other 220k letting me go Taranto to JPK.

My general thoughts which is also want to discuss is rookies havent been great this year I dont know if we can field a full super premo team so is this the year to make consesions picking up a 420k lynch who might go 90 over paying 560k for a yeo who goes 105, so that you can use that 130k to go much earlier on a JPK (and save more trades) then saving up and waiting for a Neale.

yes your losing points by not getting the stars but your getting rid of rookies much quicker. Just cant see anyone getting Yeo Macrae Dahl Franklin Henney Nroo in the fwds then also getting Neale Rocky Danger Sloane Bont etc.. in the mids

Havent you already traded Lynch out this year?  ;D

yeah i have

only way I could bring in Bont, he has averaged 97 since so lost out on that but it means I have a premo playing this week rather then Parsons so will make about 60 points this week.

Bont have averaged 117 so thats 20 points more a week and the extra premo this week.

if i could do it all again i probably would, got quite abit of benefit out of that trade.

my stupid move was trading in Miller round 4 then out round 6. now that was terrible.

Haha fe

I'd go Suns Lynch as priority, mainly because of the bye situation fwiw. Both would be good pickups though, and if I had an extra spot up forward, I reckon they'd both find their way into my side :P

MC

GCS Lynch easily for mine.

Averaged 102 in the 2nd half of last year, after having posted two sub-50s in the first half. I picked him up for cheap and was stoked with his output. Averaged 93 as a key forward in a team that won 6 games for the season... As a team I expect them to perform far better this year, which certainly won't hurt his output.
The bye is the icing on the cake for me, he'll play all 3 games where we're struggling to get that best 18 happening, one less thing to worry about.

+1 and will be my fall back if I have any outs with my fwd prems or when lux trades are available.

Bully

With Heeney & Yeo looking like 100+ performers it's hard to justify any key position players apart from Buddy.

Unless you're making the upgrade this week...

TJ Lynch plays an extra game during the byes, and he'll probably save you about 80k at least (and saving cash is a massive factor this year imo). Also don't have to worry about any further issues relating to GF with Heeney.

Surely Heeney wont cop GF again will he?  :o
