Buddy

Con. Is almost on my 'never pick' list and I don't like key fwds and wasn't worth it last time I had him. Can be a roller coaster.
Pro. Huge ceiling, lack of fwd/mid types this year prob means you need to pick at least one key fwd in your final 6. He's Buddy. Swans host Carlton if you make the GF, could be a clincher.

Heeney
Con. He's a kid. Do you trust 3 games in his 'new role' of more mid time? Has plenty of rubbish scores in years 1 and 2.
Pro. Forget history, he's just moved to the midfield, he's a jet. Was outscoring Buddy before this week.

Funny that, he's on my staple upgrade list year in/out.

His back half of 2015 was dreadful but 9/11 years running with an average of 90+ and if you pick him up after a few down weeks you get a higher average.

Heeney is brittle, doubt he will play every game

2015 - 12 games after hurting himself on a post and finished strongly by playing 9 in a row

2016 - played 23 games - last 9 in a row after being dropped IIRC

2017 - back after IM and looks strong

There could be a case to be made that Buddy is the more brittle

A couple of cons for each that haven't been mentioned:

Buddy (con) - Seemingly always misses games and his scores also drop off towards the back end of the season. He's the type of player you'd rather start and trade out than the other way around imo.

Heeney (con) - Glandular. Not good for fitness/durability for a whole season of the rigours of AFL.

Another con for both is the round 11 bye.  :'(

Seems bad... but wait a minute....could be good.

Get to watch a few more rounds (esp Heeney)

If he looks strong, jump on after his bye if you are still needing a forward.

Hoping to get Yoyo in for Pickett in 2-3 weeks as already have Buddy and won't be getting Heeney.

But Buddy for me, higher ceiling and playing North this week.

Probably counts against him now, North just towelled up the best forward line in the comp..

With the Crows, their forward line functions as one so to speak, so if they get smoked, there isn't going to generally be a single forward that has a standout game. Usually spreads quite evenly. Compare that to a team like the Suns, even if they get smashed, Lynch is still gonna kick goals, as they don't have much else.

Buddy should kick at least 3 on the weekend.
