Ablett's more than just back and Sloane is continuing to dominate. Read on for this week's best picks. For those new to the forums, each week I will tell you some statistics on a player's last 3 games, their last 3 against this week's opponent, and their last 3 at this ground. I will also do a quick overview on my thoughts and have a guess at their score for this week. From all this, I'll give you my top 5 captain choices for the week. Requests probably won't happen this year but feel free to point out anyone obvious I've missed.

The facts & thoughts:

Sloane
Last 3: 155, 132, 143 (143 avg)
Last 3 against North: 84, 139, 79 (101 avg)
Last 3 at Hobart: 86 (86 avg)

Last five weeks: 144 average, low of 132, high of 155. That’s amazing scoring AND consistency. Let’s look at some averages in those 5 weeks: 10.8 tackles, 1.6 goals, and 30.6 possessions. Lock him in until he stops. Prediction - 145

Pendlebury
Last 3: 141, 70, 84 (98 avg)
Last 3 against Carlton: 124, 118, 123 (122 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 141, 70, 110 (107 avg)

Pendles is back and now he faces a Carlton team he loves to destroy. If you don't have him, now might be the time to get him and consider the C. Prediction - 125

Treloar
Last 3: 82, 144, 93 (106 avg)
Last 3 against Carlton: 75, 96, 123 (98 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 82, 144, 127 (118 avg)

Treloar's only here because I know you'll ask. Nope nope nope. Sucks against the Blues and too inconsistent at the moment. Prediction - 95

Murphy
Last 3: 100, 97, 124 (107 avg)
Last 3 against Collingwood: 85, 139, 83 (102 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 100, 145, 125 (123 avg)

Murphy was just cracked the ton last week and took a bit of junk time to get there. Rumours were that he wasn't going to play after an injury and I'm not sure he's 100%. History's a bit up and down anyway. Prediction - 105

Docherty
Last 3: 159, 108, 132 (133 avg)
Last 3 against Collingwood: 88, 108, 72 (89 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 159, 96, 101 (119 avg)

Docherty's on fire over the last few weeks. His form against Collingwood isn't quite enough to back him in. Prediction - 110

Gray
Last 3: 81, 125, 74 (93 avg)
Last 3 against West Coast: 111, 134, 115 (120 avg)
Last 3 at AO: 125, 90, 138 (118 avg)

Robbie Gray should be good this week, which is annoying because we all want some price drops before getting him after the bye. He loves playing the Eagles and he loves it at home. Prediction - 120

Ebert
Last 3: 96, 149, 96 (114 avg)
Last 3 against West Coast: 94, 100, 125 (106 avg)
Last 3 at AO: 149, 104, 106 (120 avg)

Ebert's been great at home so far this year and, even though history says he'll go quiet sometime soon, he's good enough against the Eagles to back in another good week. Prediction - 110

Ablett
Last 3: 162, 118, 118 (133 avg)
Last 3 against Geelong: 90, 137, 140 (122 avg)
Last 3 at Metricon: 118, 138, 105 (120 avg)

I've spent the last few weeks saying GAJ is back but we didn't get him in our teams due to the early bye. Now he's coming off a massive 162 and plays his old side at home. He loves playing the Cats and he loves playing at Metricon. Prediction - 125

Dangerfield
Last 3: 76, 117, 93 (95 avg)
Last 3 against Gold Coast: 129, 138, 88 (118 avg)
Last 3 at Metricon: 88, 116, 89 (98 avg)

Danger is not 100%. It's easy to see if you watch him play or if you look at his stats. Until he bounces back, we have to stay away. It'd take a lot to give the C to someone averaging under the ton in their last three. That all said, he's good against the Suns so a ton might be in order. Prediction - 105

Selwood
Last 3: 60, 175, 105 (113 avg)
Last 3 against Gold Coast: 126, 137, 91 (118 avg)
Last 3 at Metricon: 91, 105, 116 (104 avg)

Get ready for another big score from Selwood this week. He was shocking last week because Greenwood stuck to him like shower to the wall. The Suns won't tag him and he'll go big, back to his form of the two weeks prior. Prediction - 125

Bontempelli
Last 3: 102, 105, 107 (105 avg)
Last 3 against Richmond: 115, 133 (124 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 105, 107, 126 (113 avg)

The Bont is definitely more of a SuperCoach star than a Fantasy star but he's coming off a hat-trick of tons and he's very good against the Tigers. I've seen him demolish my Tiges in person and I'll be doing it again this weekend so you know he'll go big just to hurt me. Prediction - 115

Rockliff
Last 3: 100, 124, 157 (127 avg)
Last 3 against Sydney: 132, 128, 141 (134 avg)
Last 3 at SCG: 85, 96, 119 (100 avg)

Rocky was very lucky to get a ton last week but now he's got the perfect game. The Swans are leaking points as they struggle in 2017 and Rocky loves playing them anyway. If it weren't for a certain Crow, Rocky would easily be the number one this week. Prediction - 135

Zorko
Last 3: 76, 157, 139 (124 avg)
Last 3 against Sydney: 148, 125, 68 (114 avg)
Last 3 at SCG: 62, 140 (101 avg)

Zorko was shocking last week (because I traded him in - sorry everyone) but he loves playing the Swans and they love giving up points. Prediction - 130

T. Mitchell
Last 3: 125, 122, 125 (124 avg)
Last 3 against Melbourne: 114, 101, 104 (106 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 122, 125, 125 (124 avg)

Mitchell is super consistent and basically a lock for 125 each week. Easily one of the safest options of all the captain choices just without the massive ceiling so far this year. Prediction - 125

Neale
Last 3: 114, 86, 119 (106 avg)
Last 3 against Essendon: 126, 131, 73 (110 avg)
Last 3 at Subi: 114, 86, 88 (96 avg)

Neale has been great against the Bombers recently. However, recent form suggests he's a risky choice this week. Prediction - 115

Merrett
Last 3: 108, 137, 134 (126 avg)
Last 3 against Fremantle: 121, 86 (104 avg)
Last 3 at Subi: 123, 121, 137 (127 avg)

You know you're good when 108 is a disappointing week for you. Merrett is a stud and will go big again this week. He's amazing out West. Prediction - 125

LAHUG'S ROUGHIE OF THE WEEK!

In this segment, I'll talk about someone that, because of stats and/or gut feeling, I think will go huge this week. It'll usually be somebody that you wouldn't usually give the C to but, if you have him and are feeling brave, might be worth a look.

Hannebery
Last 3: 103, 84, 79 (89 avg)
Last 3 against Brisbane: 136, 127, 120 (128 avg)
Last 3 at SCG: 84, 125, 114 (108 avg)

High risk. High reward. Hannebery, like all the Swans, has given us no reason to believe he'll do well any given week. But he did manage a ton last week despite a loss... And his team are actually a good chance to win this week. And he's incredibly good against the Lions. And, dare I say it, he's due. Gutsy prediction - 140

The verdict:
1.   Sloane (145)

2.   Rockliff (135)
3.   Zorko (130)
4.   T. Mitchell (125)
5.   Pendlebury (125)

Carlton played Sydney at the MCG last week so you might need to revise Doc

That's what I get for looking at FF directly when my spreadsheet wasn't updated... Cheers

Those Rocky scores are huge, but I'm assuming they're all at the Gabba since he is averaging 100 at the SCG. Merrett on the other hand has been ridiculous at Pattersons. I might have to flip a coin.

Where's Torp to tell me who he is picking? :P

Thunderbolts

Fantastic read and will be going Rocky

Yep, all at the SCG. But the Lions haven't played there since 2013 so that bit of history can probably be taken with a grain of salt. I think Rocky will outshine Merrett this week.

Out of curiosity, interested to see if people split their captains between AF and DT to avoid take a hit to both teams if they select the same Captain for both?

I have Merrett in DT so I've picked him a couple of times. Otherwise it's been Rocky and VC Murphy round 1
