Balic or Fisher

I've just traded Balic in.

Is Fisher really worth the trade in? I'm thinking about leaving D Swallow on the bench and trading Hibberd out for Fisher as he doesn't look close to getting back into the North team. The other thought is to trade Swallow out for Fisher instead and have 550k in the bank for a double upgrade next week.

Still have WHE, no Nankervis and 300k though.

SPS out for Balic. Less chance of making his BE against the Swans. So a few problems to fix but I haven't seen Fisher play and can't decide based off his two scores whether there's a spot for him.

Is it a positive for Balic that he has been brought back in after only missing one game due to a slight injury niggle?
Some young players lose their spot and have trouble getting back in.
He is obviously regarded as best 22 by Freo coaches.
Can the same be said for Fisher at Carlton?

Balic has DPP, but Ross the Boss could drop him at anytime. Tough to split, I might have to grab both

Straight back in after missing a game through injury is a good sign that RtB likes him. Although as Rico will confirm, Ross doesn't like playing the kids..........

In their debut season!? Freo are a top 4 side, there'll be hardly any kids ready to go in their debut year for any top side, not just Freo

Neale, Sheridan, Sutcliffe, APearce....

All played upwards of half a year in only their 2nd year and are regulars

It's a myth that Ross doesn't give kids a go now. If they're ready to go, they get a chance

Agree mate. Safe to say this kid wont be seeing much footy at Freo unfortunately.  Ross doesnt like playing kids at the best of time. Any excuse I reckon.

Glad a threw a $5er on Balic for Rising Star at $101!  ;D

good bet......  hope it pays off.        Let's see how many games Ross gives the newbies....   not holding my breath.    He is bound to get cold feet and chicken out as he normally does.

Haha it's pretty funny. Lyon gets criticised for not paying enough kids (which is wrong in itself). Plays more kids in possies that push out Barlow, cops it as well

Can't afford a double downgrade with Swallow out as well. Fisher for me although Balic is a good option. My main concern is Lyon can be ruthless with the kids. Just one bad game and Balic will be back to the twos. Watched Fisher a fair bit last year and he impressed me no end. Was playing well enough to be selected in the WAFL team of the year at the half way point of the season.

On Balic... our depth at Peel is limited unless RTB brings up one of the discards (Dawson, Griff, Suban, DPearce, etc) to plug holes here and there. Only Sutcliffe or Tabs would push someone out at the moment imo. Maybe Ryan or Collins eventually after a good block of form
