Unfortunately, Caddy is still sitting in my forward line and he has to go! Was hoping he would show more, but playing mid/forward hasn't gone over 20 disposals and is the only player in my team Im not happy with.
The problem being I only have $18,200 in the bank, so would have to double trade to bring in anyone worthwhile. None of my rookies are ripe for the picking. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
1. Straight swap for Heeney (Assuming he is underdone, and will take a while to get back to finals form, if at all)
2. Trade Caddy to Yeo and Barrett to Fisher.
3. Keep him and hope he comes good, or at the least, doesn't leak too much more money.
4. Trade another rookie worth more $$$ and upgrade to someone else.
Cash: $18,200       27 trades
Backs:          Adams, Docherty, Laird, Marchbank, Hampton, Stewart, Newman, Hibberd
Midfield:       Murphy, Rockliff, Bont, Fyfe, Beams, Treloar, Hanners, McGrath, SPP, Barrett, Parfitt
Rucks:         Sandilands, Witts, Strnadica
Forwards:     Dalhaus, Nankervis, Macrae, CADDY, Hoskin-Elliot, Butler, Houston, Pickett

Ps. I actually have two teams, but this is my preferred. Ironically, my other team (forced to put it together to fill the final spot in my cash league) is performing better. Both are very different, but both have ........ Caddy! >:(

MC

I'd keep the faith for now. As you said, there are no decent options for a straight swap, so you'd require 2 trades to do a sideways 'upgrade'. There are also no decent rookies that are 'must-haves' so it seems all signs are pointing to holding him. The benefit of doing that is that if you pegged him as a 90/20 player this year (roughly?) his form thus far in a new team wouldn't have caused you to adjust too far down from that imo. Perhaps more reasonable after his start would be 87/20 by season's end?

So far he is 269 points from 4 games.
87x20 is 1740

1740 - 269 leaves 1471, which when divided by his 16 remaining games is 91 per game.

This of course assumes our perception of Caddy's output was a reasonable one of course!

Thanks MC, sound logic. I will stick fat with him and hopefully he can produce a few decent scores.

Cannon

If you had the funds it would be a no brainer to give him the flick for a better preforming forward but without the funds you're probably better off just holding him until you can.

OR...

Other option i see is trading Stewart - Williamson gives you $53k + the $18K you already have so roughly $490k total. You could get T.Lynch or Yeo? If you are willing to take the risk with either of them and use 2 trades.

sidvicious

Caddy is not only a SC spud But one of the biggest Spuds in the AFL came next last in Gold coasts BnF b4 Geelong traded him . Did nothing at geelong. Then tigers pick him up and does nothing . Built like Tarzan and plays like Jane

igotworms

Thanks Cannon, I like that idea of Stewart to Williamson and Caddy to Yeo. Unfortunately it leaves me $1,700 short. Otherwise I would have pushed that button!!! Doh!

miamis_finest

Might bring him in for this price lol.

tigertops

I'm thinking him to yeo. Bit sideways but I'll be getting 50 odd points extra if they keep as they are going. He's been disappointing
U got Newman? Him to Williamson maybe to give u cash?
U reckon I go caddy yeo??

igotworms

Im hanging on to Newman, think he will get some more games hopefully in the near future. May have to wait for poor form or an injury. I can loop hole him in the interim. If you can, definitely go Caddy to Yeo tigertops!! Dont think he will go as big this week at the MCG, but I see him really settled now at half back, and being a top 10 forward this year. Intercept marks are gold, and he loves them. Think he has found that consistency now, talent was never in question. I will be bringing him in for Caddy as soon as I can downgrade a rookie. I ended up downgrading Stewart to Williamson which netted me about $40K. Thought Stewart was a slow burn and only had another $60-$80K left in him. Williamson scored 81, so Im happy with that trade.

shaker

Trade him to Matera then when Matera plumps up get another FWD

igotworms

If I go down that path Shaker, am I better downgrading him to a rookie and upgrading elsewhere? Missed the boat with Matera, as if I remember correctly he will be going up about $70K after this week? I dont think he will continue that sort of scoring and dont think he will be a keeper. Rookie stands to make me more money, and possibly not a lot less points? Either way, its going to be a very satisfying trade when I finally pull the pin!

Save the Matera trade for when Parsons comes back I reckon.

tigertops

Traded caddy to yeo. Can't afford that sort of money averaging 70 odd.

Money Shot

I'm holding and hoping he comes good this weekend :o

I did the same MS. Couldn't afford to straight swap to Yeo ($1,900 short) luckily, as I would have kicked myself afterwards. Only the one trade this week, with Williamson coming in for a nice and juicy 82!! $$$$$$
SURELY he (Caddy) has a crack this week. He has the ability to score big, just doesn't look like he is even close at present.
