Second year and killing it and everyone was like 'you can't get him because he's second year'. I think they were wrong. Said the same thing about Bont and I liked Bont and knew he was a beast and got him. Am regretting not listening to my gut and getting Oliver. He's a beast. Not sure if it's not too late now though. You needed to get him to make you cash too just in case he suddenly produces a run of 60s. Don't think he will though.

I seriously think he is the real deal.

Not the real deal but a great money spinner for those who grabbed him on the  cheap. Dees are now without a genuine ruckman so expect Oliver's scores to take a tumble.
Not necessarily always the case Bully. They'll just structure up more defensively at stoppages so we should see a lot more sharked hitouts and tackles. Bulldogs have done it very well for a few years now

Although being a young body he should drop off/cop a niggling injury so I'm staying away

Who comes in though? At least the Doggies had Campbell, Boyd, Minson & Roughead. Dees have nothing in the cupboard, not even a best 22 player who can pinch hit like Jackson Trengove.
Not sure tbh mate. It's not ideal and they'll lose more clearances than they win but if they go in expecting to lose hitouts and structure up defensively they can still be effective at times or negate how effective the oppo is
Just pretend like the opposition has Sandi every week. Ezpz.

His scores could drop a bit and he'd still be better than Treloar.

There are at least 10 mids I can name that I think will have a better season than him, so in that sense he isn't a great pick.

Incredibly good for a 2nd year player tho.

quinny88

Imagine if he starts kicking the thing rather than just hanballing too.
Will be in a lot of teams in the future, not for me this year though. Only got 2 spots left and would rather 2 of
Dusty, Sloane, Selwood, Bont, Rocky

HoleMeal

I traded him into my team in round 2 as a sideways trade. I have been very happy with him and I believe he can be a keeper.
It was a knee jerk reaction trade out of Lachie Neale.
See how it ends up at the season end.

He's such an in and under contested player but there were a number of times he could have kicked and chose to handball. A bit frustrating to watch.
He also had 7 clangers I think, and still scored 115!

Had him from the start. After this week would have made around $130k already (more than the rookies). Easily averaging top 10 mid scores. Even if he can't keep it up throughout the year, has done more than enough to justify picking him at the start.

For those still thinking of getting him, he made a big impact on the game for first 3 qtrs, but then they clamped down on him in the last and he only had 4 possessions.  I think the opposition teams might start putting some more work into him now and it might wear him down given he is only second year player..

Melbourne were down to 2 rotations. Oliver isn't known for his endurance.

I'd put his poor last quarter down to fatigue since there was lack of opportunity for a rest more than anything.

Mitchell King was elevated off the rookie list so suspect he may be the Ruck going forward.

My Chumps

One thing is for sure that this kid is going to be a genuine flowering gun. His contested work is unbelievable for someone who has played less than 20 games.

Goosey

Watched him for the first time last night, super clean hands, very quick, farms the ball out so not surprising his stats are handball heavy.

StuL

Now that Heppell is only 10 grand more than him, I'd be getting Heppell. Would have been great to start him or pick him at 382 though.

Fyfe, Rocky, Bont and now Oliver

The 2nd year breakout is real
