Perhaps we can pray for the resurrection of Goldy as a ruckman.

What a time for the Good Friday to start. Know the AFL have been wanting to schedule a Good Friday Game and for maximum benefit would have thought a 7:10, 7:25 bounce would have had most impact rather than the 4:40pm start,

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I'm assuming it is scheduled as a twilight game so they can incorporate donations from ticket sales into Channel 7's Good Friday Appeal coverage that night.

They would be starting early to avoid overlapping with the yearly good Friday appeal channel seven host and televise.

No way 7 is going to show the game any other way. They wouldn't even broadcast it on Mate since it will be drawing viewers away.

I think the only reason they didn't give Foxtel the first crack at the broadcast is everything will be closed on Good Friday so if you don't have Foxtel you can't watch it.

Pretty clear what CH7 are doing, have the first half, have a brief news break during half time, conveniently about the same time people expect to see their news, 6PM, then finish off the footy and start their Good Friday telecast at primetime about 7:30.

Just proves, media is running the game schedules not the AFL.

Of course they are, and fair enough considering the billions they pay

PowerBug

Wait so you don't reckon it's at that time so that people can watch the footy and then go to their church services if they have any? Putting it at night would mean a lot of people aren't at home to watch it.

Definitely based on the GFA. Dead spot in the coverage for Channel 7, so win-win

FYI, AFL Fantasy has a partial lockout only for the Friday game, with full lockout on Saturday to allow Sunday teams to be named. Not sure if SC will follow suit...

Haha! So it is LF... My brain is absolutely fried at the moment it appears. As you were!
