Round 2 Fixture

Springfield Isotopes v El Paso Pioneers

Both teams had a loss on the weekend despite posting respectable scores.
Springfield should be happy with their score tho despite the loss as it is a very encouraging sign of possible good things to come to them.Their forward line let them down a bit on the weekend but I expect Greene and Lynch to lift this week.A couple of tweaks could see them post a score that could see them grab a win over El Paso.
El Paso had a few passengers on the weekend who need to lift this week if El Paso wants to win here..Captain Matt Priddis was down on his usual output, possibly the new edition to El Paso this season in Ollie Wines could be affecting him but I expect he should bounce back this week. They will be without senior player Pearce Hanley who has returned home for personal reasons so will be looking to replace him.
Tough pick this one as their scores were only 9 points different on the weekend but El Paso had HGA.If El Paso players find some form this week then they should win this but I won't discount Springfield from this one

Los Angeles Kings v Calgary Fireflies

LA looks to be back despite a loss on the weekend, the edition of Watson and Hurley has strengthened the team but unfortunately they had some players just not up to the task against Bermuda and now they've lost defender Dane Rampe for a few weeks now due to a training accident, lucky for LA fellow defender Shannon Hurn had a great game in the 2's and would be in line to replace Rampe.
Calgary's senior players lead the rebuilding side to a nice win over Springfield on the weekend.Calgary will be relying on them to keep performing all season while the younger players develop for them and gain some consistency.Ruckman Matthew Kreuzer was very good for them on the weekend and will be key for him to stay fit all season if Calgary is to stay in the 8 this year. They should gain Swallow in for them this week after being a late out which should strengthen their mids.

Dallas Coyotes v Bermuda Tiger Sharks

Coach Atto will be very disappionted with how his boys performed on the weekend, the only shining lights for him was Captain Gibbs and fellow mid Stephen Hill as the Coyotes got rolled badly by Roswell. His defenders were poor and key mid Robbie Gray copped an accidental knock to the head early on from Roswell defender Zak Jones and was quiet for the rest of the game. Will be interested to see if the axe is swung this week or will Atto give the boys a chance to get the cobwebs out and give them another run this week.
Bermuda had a nice start to the season with a win over LA,their midfield group was very good including new addition Darcy Parish and they could be strengthened more if defender Leigh Montagna comes up this week.

Arizona Scorpions v Roswell Aliens

Arizona will be disappointed about their performance on the weekend and the narrow loss they had to Guadalajara,Captain Dan Hannebery was very disappointing for them as was their core midfielders, young guns Macrae,Williams and Miller had the task of holding the team together along with first year player Powell-Pepper who was very good on debut for them.Jarryd Roughead who is back after a battle with cancer was solid for them and will be better off for the run.
Roswell core midfielders were extremely good, lead by new recruits Dangerfield and Merrett along with the old hands of Mitchell and Jones, they ran over the top of Dallas easily. An injury to key forward Riewoldt is not ideal but Charlie Cameron looks likely replacement after a great game in the 2's.Forward Michael Walters could also be given a run in the 2's after a poor performance on the weekend,Jong and Fantasia pushing for a call up to the main team.
Arizona have had the better of Roswell over the past couple of years and could well again if they fire up this week

Bolivia Condors v Guadalajara Pirates

Bolivia played one short last week with Dom Tyson not coming up and still managed a decent score but were no match for the power of Hawaii.Captain Treloar, mids Sidebottom,Ablett and young gun Oliver fought hard against a more experienced Hawaiian midfield but just couldn't come up with the win despite AA ruckman Gawn beating Mumford.I expect Bolivia to bounce back this week.
Guadalajara coach Nige will be pleased with a first up win against Arizona but they still have room for improvement.Captain Selwood was a little down but a fit and firing Fyfe was a welcome inclusion for them after missing a majority of last season.Fyfe staying fit will be key to the Pirates pushing for a spot in the 8.They should gain Dom Sheed back this week after he was left out of the team due to a minor calf strain.

Washington Senators v Hawaii Hydro Bombs

Washington put on a great show on the weekend, captain Gaff was sublime, fellow mids Liberatore and Goddard were great support and forwards Yeo and Hogan were excellent.Cripps struggled a bit in his first game back after a limited preseason and it may take a few games before we see the best of him.Taking on Hawaii this week will be a tough ask and they will need to be at their best to come close to winning.
Hawaii run over the top of Bolivia easy on the weekend, their midfield fired, most of their forwards fired but their defence was a little leaky and they will need a replacement for the suspended Vince. If everything fall into place again this week for them then they will take the win here.
