May have got lucky with Butler, don't see him scoring those numbers regularly. F6 is going to be an issue. Really wanted McCarthy but decided squeezing in Jones down back was more urgent.

Only two things left that I'm really tossing up on:

Firstly Houston vs Eddy - would much rather try to squeeze in Florent or Turner but can't scrounge up the cash.

and

Selwood + Strn... vs TMitch + Preuss. Dunno if Preuss is worth it because I'll be hoping he gets dropped anyway.

No Preuss could allow me to go Parfitt ---> Florent. Thing is with Florent is that he could get dropped when Papley is back, but could just as easily prove himself to be a more valuable player and play 18+ games.

Happy with the start. Was flying before Sunday but Otten, Hampton and Taranto held most back. The rookies look about as trash as we feared.

Didn't take JPK's VC points because I'm a dumb, greedy man, gambled on Fyfe and lost 30 there. Don't know what I was thinking, I blame the hangover on Sunday and an urge to make Sundays games more interesting. Lesson learnt

Was glad I had SPP covering Swallow so I didn't panic and bring in the perennially average Horlin-Smith. Would've been tempted by Dom Sheed but he wasn't even named!

No trades this week. Even if some rooks get dropped I'll be content to use the loopholes

Trash week. Goldy out left me with a 0. Wish I had've gone with Houston (or Parfitt) instead of Florent and used that extra cash for Preuss.

May have backed the wrong horse with three Suns players including a key forward - Ablett and Lynch both really hurt my score this week.

On the plus side I'm stoked about having Buddy. He looks like he's in ripping shape and I haven't seen him in many teams.

Having SPP on the bench is going to piss me off for a while but I'm happy with Jeager and Swallow. There's this stupid idea to trade Ablett to Docherty via Hibberd, promoting SPP to the starting lineup but I've gotta back GAJ. However I haven't watched either of the Suns games so I have no idea how he's travelling.

Nic Newman looked alright so I'll wait a week on Hibberd and see how both go this weekend. If Goldy is out again I'm cooked and might look further into a GAJ --> Dochers and Goldy --> Gawn type scenario.

Pickett ---> Houston is the only other tempting trade this week. I'll probably back myself and keep my trades seeing as overall is pretty much out of the equation and leagues require a stack of trades up the sleeve late in the season. Ofc I still want to finish as high as possible but I really don't think it's worth stretching myself thin with aggressive trading. Hayward looked good as well and I love having Sydney rooks in the team so I'm content to wait another week on Pickett anyway.

Fingers crossed Preuss cops a week too so I can reassess on weather it's worth double trading to get him in. Unfortunately don't have the cash lying around to trade Strnca straight to him.

When you have good week of SC, the next weekend can't come quick enough. When you have a bad week, it's like there's nothing you can do and you just want to chuck it all in.

Florent looked pretty good on the weekend I thought, reckon he'll come good for ya.

Ablett been very average...but it's Ablett. Tough call whether to trade him or not :-\

Lynch will obviously have his up and down games.

Pickett to Houston could be an alright trade, and you've gotten most rookies bang on it seems. I'd be tempted to pull the trigger there, but obviously wait and see what happens with Goldy.

Very tempted to bring in Newman this week and give him the start. I'm just too antsy

Gonna back Pickett over Houston. Hombsch and Pittard to get back into the team - but on the other hand DBJ plays a similar role and could get dropped. Valuing the trade over the quick cash. Fingers crossed.

Missing out on Preuss is a real kick in the teeth but its definitely not worth the double trade to find the extra 20k.

Yeah I reckon the right call there Chumps. As long as your rookies are playing, holding trades probably the better option (or at least I hope so, doing the same myself haha). Plenty of rookies coming up over the next few weeks anyway. And wait a week on Newman :P

Only concern I have with Ablett is he has said this may be his last season of AFL. This to me says he is struggling for motivation and may reflect his low scoring at the moment,

Haha, knew I should have brought in Newman! Gee I like the looks of him. In fact I like the looks of most of our newbies, a pity it's just flowering daft to be playing 6 of them at once.

The thing with Yab is provided he doesn't injure himself he'll still be a 105 mid, motivation or not. That's worst case scenario, him bottoming out IMO. Not ideal, but the points I miss out on in the meantime I'll hopefully make up for by having that extra trade. Best case scenario he returns to his former self and goes 115+.

Another sub-par score. Worst of all was Jeagers 44 on Sunday resigning me to a 1 point defeat against my brother. Horrific, the stuff of nightmares!

If Preuss keeps playing Goldy has to go. flower I wish I went the opposite direction with that question I raised in the opening post - Parfitt and Preuss instead of Florent and Str... Hindsight. Should've just dropped Goldy as soon as Preuss was named R1.

Anyway, enough lamenting past decisions, where to from here.

Hibbered ---> Newman is locked in. I wish I did it last week so I had more flexibility this week.

Goldy ---> ??? - I'm thinking Stef Martin. I don't think I can really go wrong with a few rucks - with this no third man up rule there's some inflated scores so far this season. Tempting to grab Jarrod Witts for the cash but it would mean another trade later down the track. Missed the boat on Nank so I'll just pray he starts playing showere.

How daft would it be to trade Goldy to Jake Spencer? It's tempting! Haha

An average round salvaged by two big scores from Dahlhaus and Tom Lynch, giving me a 10k rise in the overall rankings and 3/4 league wins.

Fair few under-performers but everyones in the same boat on that one.

The Goldy ---> Smartin trade looks like a winner but Jake Spencer proved me right by notching up a century! Gee that would've been an interesting move. Hibberd to Newman was a no brainer, just wish I had've started Newman over Hampton this week

Here's a little update on what the team looks like.



Really not sure on what to do this week. Happy to roll with all prems/mid pricers, giving Jeager a bit longer to hopefully average somewhere near 90.

The only issue is rookies. Very tempted to bring in Balic this week but don't really know who for. Barrett and Eddy not playing. Barrett could come back this week but I reckon Eddy isn't looking likely. Florent and Pickett don't look like generating much cash based on recent performances. Taranto is definitely in the firing line when a few players get back for the Giants.

Long, Cox and Fisher are the other lads I'm eyeing off. Fortunately my backline is pretty solid so might have to give Cox a miss. I also like Parsons but hopefully he gets rubbed out for a couple so I can reassess later.

Might be as simples as Eddy ---> Balic and Fisher or Long for Barrett next week. Hope that Pickett and Florent pull out a decent score for the three week price rise.

Tbh if I were you, would be looking at Florent for Balic. I've liked the look of Florent but he just can't seem to score! Hasn't even gotten his half century yet :(

Well teams have royally flowered my anus!

Two different plans:

Jeager ---> Hardwick/Long or even Balic still (although I can't find anything about the severity of his injury) via Florent's DPP
Taranto ---> Jackson Macrae/Toby Greene/anyone I want

or

Jeager ---> Fisher
Florent ---> Tex Walker/Touk Miller/anyone under 487k

Obviously would prefer Macrae but I'd be worried about carrying Florent, Eddy and Barrett not getting games. Taranto is technically 'managed' so should come back in, but of course he could also just as easily be done now with Stevie J back and a few others returning soon.

I'm looking at possibly going JOM to Fisher as well, probably wouldn't go early on any of the other 3. In your case with only 487k left, Yeo may be the best option if you want to take the risk :P
