Gawn 10 weeks plus so has to go.

Thoughts on Steele to Swallow?

Sideways, but hear me out. Steele is scoring ok for his price, but won't make much more than another 50k. Swallow scoring better at the moment (may average same) but has another 150k in him. On top of pocket 100k from the trade, so a positive cash injection of 200k. With trades usually valued at 150k, it could be a long term winner. Jobbers to Newman the other trade.

Fwiw, ranked 228 at the moment, and going for overall, so want to get cash and upgrades as soon as I can.

Another option would be Tuohy to Newman and Steele to Bont/Dusty/Roo, as Tuohy has also been underwhelming.

The Supercoach

I didnt see the hawks game at all but is JOM injured or something?

Whats the go with everyone saying he has to go immediately? Surely he was never going to ton up every week...

Could of just been a bad game against an old side that got to his head or did something happen??

Not injured, but played forward and has next to 0 confidence in his kicking. Didn't expect miracles, but at his price he's being beaten by rookies so the money can be better spent elsewhere. I got Murphy for him and that trade alone netted over 100 points this week...

fair enough, didn't realise he was up forward. I've already got murphy and also have spp on the bench so will probably hold a trade and see if he can hit form

Not sure what to do to be honest.
I will be bringing in Newman regardless but then have underperforming players like Vince and Goldstein on the bubble this week.

Was thinking:
- Goldstein for Swallow and Nankervis into ruck.

Means I'll have three rookies on field up forward (Taranto, Parfitt and WHE). Bit worried about that but Goldstein isn't even rucking!

You know as soon as you trade Goldy he will ruck and go 150.
SEN today were discussing Nth continuing with Pruess and looking for Goldy to trade at end of year.   Goldy 28 coming out of contract and be expensive to keep.    Get good trade and salary cap space.      Whilst Pruess plays goldy is going to be SC death.   I kept him last week to see where North were going and what impact Pruess may have.   Now we know and he has to go.       Goldy to Swallow, Murphy, Bont or Martin/Grundy.    I have Nank to move to R1

Want to join the Wines band wagon. Seriously feel he is the elite inside midfielder at Port.
In order to get him in im thinking of the following.
Stewart to Newman (need newman. Good scoring)
And either Parfitt or Barrett to Wines??

Should I just do Hibberd -> Newman

or JOM -> Newman via Hibberd DPP

and

Taranto -> Touk Miller?

Id just do Hibberd to Newman as Hibberd isn't getting games and JOM will still make you some $$

How much $$ would you have to move Taranto on ?

Is this too much of a luxury trade??

I am looking at trading JOM to Swallow

(saving $47,000 plus a projected price rise of $57,000)

I don't consider it a luxury when Omeara has been a spud. It's purely correctional in my eyes

O'Meara is having teething problems, he'll come good. Waste of a trade imo.  Hawks are in a restructuring mode, might take a couple more weeks.

By that stage people have upgraded him to a super premo. The key to this year will be nailing the blokes who are killing it in the midfield. It's an absolute smorgasbord for points this year, I reckon the top 8 mids could all feasibly be averaging 120 by season's end. Here's how it stands after 3 rounds.

Martin - 144 (career high of 108 but has hit a new level)
Murphy - 142 (back to his best, career high of 118)
Danger - 139 (Brownlow year 131)
Pendles - 130 (points machine, 120+ normal)
Bontempelli - 131 (will drop but CD love this bloke)
Wines - 130 (breakout year for Wines, don't think he's a chance for 120 but good for 110)
Sloane - 130 (110 likely)
Cotchin - 120 (Brownlow year was 116, all the signs are there)
Rockliff - 119 (GOAT knows how to score)
Selwood - 118 (120 looking good, has a stack of home games coming up)

Those who load up the midfield the earliest will be the ones to prosper. The tricky part will be getting these guys in on the cheap. For those with Gawn or Goldy, I'd be using this opportunity to get a gun mid, plenty to choose from.

I agree with all this too Bully.

That's why my midfield is now this - Dangerfield, Pendles, Bont, Fyfe, Beams, Treloar, T.Mitchell, Adams (temp M8)

Midfield is where the points are so that's why I have brought Bont in for O'Meara and moved Adams down to the mids.  8)

Totally agree, turns out most of the rookies are scoring well and gonna make good dollars over the next five weeks. Forward prems aren't performing all that great. Load your mid and cash in on ur rookies over the next 4 weeks and pick up your forward prems that show their going the distance.... :P :P :P
