Thurlow on extended bench too. Chance of missing?

Safe, but i think you can only pick one out of him and Marchbank and I'm going the bank.

Who else is throwing half their plans out the window? Who really wants to rely on guys on extended benches? All of a sudden Taranto is iffy, but still in. Otten gone. EVW and Hibb looking shaky, so just go with one probably.

Taranto is already confirmed to play and EVW not even named!

Lol didn't even realise they named EVW because earlier today the club announced the debutantes and he wasn't mentioned so naturally assumed he won't play

Think Otten will make the cut this week but JS still shaky....

Mat0369

Cheney injured which helps him out.

No more so than any defensive rookie. If Otten plays well, the Crows will not just go and dump him. He can play anywhere on the park, he's won a coaches award for versatlity, he's a former top 5 B&F winner and he can pinch hit in the ruck. Overlooking the best potential scorer for a first year rookie isn't the way to go.

Cheney injured helps out Kelly and his JS, not Otten.

Yeah but we don't need him to play anywhere else once Lever is ready, he also won that award and came top 5 in 2013 when Jenkins was out with a broken ankle, we didn't have Lever, Hartigan was still developing, Tex was out with his knee and we didn't have Mitch McGovern. You can see why he played a lot back then, that was a cruel year.

I keep seeing a new post in here and start sweating that there has been a change to round 1 team announcements!

I'm just working on the simple philosophy that if you play well you stay in the side. Otten has had a really good build up and his scoring potential is higher than any other rookie. If he's dropped I'll look at Ben Long but he's the only rookie I feel comfortable starting on the field.

Fair enough, I've gone 4 deep down back to avoid that decision haha but if I had to start another rookie, he would probably be the best choice in terms of scoring.

LATE CHANGE

Geelong has made a change to its squad to face Fremantle on Sunday, with Cam Guthrie withdrawn from the 25-man squad because of a calf injury. He has been replaced by Darcy Lang.
