Is Newman to Lloyd even worth doing?
That's the trade that I'm trying to decide on. I think it probably is and the reason being for consistency.

Lloyd has played 12 games, and if you take out his concussion game then 9 of his 11 he has scored above 90, with the other two both in the 80s. Which is exactly what you want from a defender.

Newman has played 9 games, to go above 90 only 4 times, granted 3 of those have been in his last 5 games.

Fun little stat... if you take out Lloyd's top score and bottom score (114 & 4), then he has an average of 97.9. Whereas if you do the same for Newman (151 & 59) he has an average of 88. So 10 point difference between the two.

The other question is can Newman sustain this scoring for the year considering it's his first year playing at the highest level? I would be surprised to see if he can.

That's just my thoughts though :)

That's a fair assessment Menzel. I tend to ignore Newmans early scores though as he was playing his first games of his career and was in and out of the side. He's settled now, the team is playing better footy and his scoring his solid.

Lloyd is certainly a better player and will likely be more consistent but is it worth a trade?
If my team was finished I'd pull the trigger but I feel like it might be bad timing

I still feel as well that Newman is first on the choppping block if and when McVeigh comes back.

Newman > McVeigh in current form

I'm happy to wait another week and see if Newman can back it up with another good score.  They should be about the same price next week.

Almost want Newman to have a shocker so the decision is easy

Newman is averaging more than Rance, Tuohy and Shaw

Leave the boy alone

I actually have Rance and Shaw too  :-X
Trust their JS and scoring potential a little more though. One of them needs to become Docherty if I can ever afford it..

I'm trading Scooter to him. Newman can hopefully earn a bit more cash and then I can turn him into a bottomed out mid.

Yeah that's fair enough about his first few games.
If I could trade my D6 to Lloyd this week I would, but I don't have enough cash to do that so it's either trade Newman or not bother. Again I just think it comes down to Lloyd having the experience and runs on the board, whereas Newman is unpredictable for how he will close out the season...

I am good with Lloyd, think its a solid pick.

The thing you need to remember about newman, is he is a first year player, but he is also a mature age player.

That would suggest he is less likely to have the tail off that most 1st year players have.

Didn't even consider this as an option till now!

Allows me to get Lloyd, have a good (temp) replacement for scooter at M8, keep making money on Stewart (D7) and eventually trade out my worst starting defender prem, or even Stewart, for a fallen prem midfielder by switching Lloyd back.

Going Steele Lloyd and make$30k
