Over the bye weeks, will it be weekly gold being awarded, or will we have a "Bye rounds championship" sorta thing like we did last year, with the team that scores the most points over all 3 weeks being awarded the most gold etc etc.

This is how the gold was awarded last year:

Big 3 weeks from GL/FTC who really showed they could mix it with the big boys! Going to be an interesting end of season to the season!

Would probably make the lowest gold awarded to be like 120G (providing that you actually name a team each week aha), but the rest looks pretty good. Would also make auctions really interesting after this, as you can put a Plat up in each position and, with everyone having at least 120G, could be some damn good auctions aha.

I'm inclined to go with a more traditional gold reward after each week rather than a big compiled prize at the end. While it would make for more interesting auctions as you say GL, I think receiving a little bit of gold after each week during byes may allow coaches to tinker with their sides and avoid donuts/spuds on field.

Makes alot more sense. If teams want to save it up for a big auction so be it. If not thry can spend and try to win more gold

Some of the following is probably best suited to our returning coaches, but I always want to hear from everyone.

But yeah, if you've got a second for some insight on the following, it can help improve UTG to come.

What's improved from UTG Season 1 to 2?
Has anything Diminished or worsened this year compared to last?
Would you revert any of our changes this year to the way they were last?
Is something missing from the UTG? If so, what is it?
How would you like to see our finals weeks run? Knockout? Cumulative points?
Do you have any brilliant ideas for our themed rounds?

And just a side note from a way in advance,
After Round 14, I'll be unable to access the UTG for a short period of time.
If you want to purchase packs ahead of Round 15, you will need to have your order in on the Sunday as Round 14 finishes.
An auction will still run during the week, however, it seems unlikely that I would be able to do exchanges during this time.
I will be back soon after Round 15 concludes to have all packs and exchanges done before Round 16 kicks off :)

I can't comment :P From all reports the comp is run in an equally smooth and efficient fashion to last season however!

Has anything Diminished or worsened this year compared to last?

Again, hard to comment but I would love to see some real big differences in when auctions close. I think there is a fair chance most auctions either close at midnight or around 4-8pm EST. Throw some 1am closures or 7am closures to catch people off guard! (I know, much much easier said than done. Not everyone works the cooked night shifts :P)

Nothing off the top of my head, however I will keep this in mind in future rounds. Perhaps nightly score updates? (Again, very easy to sit back and make such suggestions).

I'm a fan of the best team winning, which is best reflected by cumulative points as a team cannot directly influence another sides score.

Two first name round - players can only play cards where the player has two first names hahaha. For example, Liam Picken is no good however Sam Mitchell is a goer. Nah no clue, I'm not creative enough baha

Hey all, so in attempt to kind of bring a more real time alternative for members of the forum, we've gone ahead and set up a FanFooty Forum Discord server. It'll serve as a newer and more modern version of the old FF chat. All the details you need to know are below:

So, the Discord server is basically up and running. I still have to add a few things here and there but it's set up enough to be functional imo.

The above link will allow you to either access Discord online or allow you to download the program (that's what I use). As I mentioned before, you can also get the app on your phone.

If you don't already have Discord, you'll have to create an account. It's free, quick and easy to do. It's probably best people use their FF name, but if you already use Discord under a different name or want to sign up under a different name, that's fine - we can always change your name once you get on.

Once you get on, you should be able to start chatting straight away in the text channels.

For anyone who wants to use the voice channels (I doubt this will be popular or interest many, but the option is there), I advise you set up push-to-talk (PTT). Basically, in the settings you can set up a key as your 'PTT' button to speak on mic if you want, this just blocks out background noise, typing sounds and other noises you might make while on mic. This obviously requires you to have a mic to speak, but you can still also sit in voice channels and simply listen to anyone conversing.

There's an @ feature to tag members. Generally, a member will get a notification if they've been tagged. Please don't abuse this feature or use it to annoy anyone. One thing I suggest is tagging an admin or mod when you get on so we know who has arrived for the first time and can help you with any basics like a name change or giving a role.

Another thing that people might find helpful is that you can still be on Discord but afk (away from keyboard). There are 3 other settings apart from online that you can mark yourself as to indicate your status. Idle, Do Not Disturb or Invisible. Might be good for those that still wanna be on and have access to Discord, but aren't around to actively chat, or are at work, school or whatever.

I'll add a bunch of rules and stuff over the course of the day but common sense and common courtesy apply. Anything that will get you reported, suspended or banned here on the forum will go for the Discord.

I plan to keep the same roles for the forum. So those who are site-wide mods here will get mod powers and those with Discord experience will also get mod powers to help assist those who are new.

If there are any other questions, let me know. KB and (I assume) a couple of others around here probably have used Discord before so I'll get them to help out with that stuff if need be.

Feel like people are getting involved a bit more, obviously having an active admin helps a lot with this. Spite had an incredibly busy schedule so it's very understandable but still good to have someone like you on board fTC.
