This competition looks great!

Pumped to be a part of it for this season.

Just a quick question as I try to work my head around how it all works. Is there going to be anything other than buying packs to spend gold on before the season starts?

An important question! No, it will just be packs before season starts. The auction house will kick off after Round 1 is finished.

Wato the first to pull a platinum, but might be struggling to field a side for Round 1!
I'm keen to hear from the rest of the coaches, would you rather have SMitch or a full side of mediocre players who'll get a game?

Id take mitchell over most teams. Plats are hard to get.

Not mine though, stoked with lycett and 2 gold consumables.

We're still waiting to hear from our final participant, if we don't within a reasonable amount of time a spot may open up.
If not, you are more than welcome to join a side as an assistant or even co-coach if they'll take you on!

2 questions
1 - Are positions based on the DT positions the player is eligible for?
2 - What happens if you can't field a full team in R1

Was based on DT last year (not AF), and if you can't field a full team then you cop a donut. After the first 2-3 weeks though everyone should have a full team i reckon.

1 - Yep! It was in the rules somewhere but we'll be using RDT positions, not AF positions. Initially this seems like the same thing, but AF changes positions mid-season, and we determined last season that as we are playing with printed 'cards', their positions should not change from the beginning of the season. A lot easier to remember too.

2 - That's perfectly fine, and it's to be expected in Round 1. There's no punishment for not naming a full side, and there won't be all season (except for one special round which is a complete exception!). We'll have some special event weeks throughout the season as was the case last year, and in those weeks most teams won't have a full side, such as a Silver Cards only week. You can see the events we did last year if you ponder through the threads currently in the 'Team Board' section, they'll be moved to archives soon.

Just as a bit of a side note, there are also no OOPs in UTG. We should have full sides for most weeks, but this is not the case for Round 1. Then auctions will start, and I'll ensure that people have the chance to fill their sides there. Along with more packs being available of course.

Question...can we trade with other members for the players in the same tier? Eg, I want to trade my silver mid for a silver def...

This is something that wasn't in UTG last season, though it was mentioned a little bit. It is something that I am looking to implement at some stage this season, but for now you are unable to trade cards between other sides.

Our first auction coming up after the conclusion of Round 1 will likely have a broad range of players and positions so hang on for that!

Do we still have stuff like bronze week, golf week etc..

if its to hard to do then its fine but having all special rounds up before the season starts because last year i would have played very differently if i had known how the special rounds worked.

e.g. keep bronze spuds for golf week and bronze week, collect players from the same team etc...

Still trying to work out if it's better to trade 5 bronze for a silver or keep the gold for packs...I'm leaning towards the latter as you could get 3 on-field players as opposed to one solid player.
