Ill trade my spud golds for a Platinum

Rioli, Cyril
Hogan, Jesse
Hill, Stephen
Rance, Alex
Naitanui, Nic
Tippett, Kurt
Captain Card

LS receives,

Murphy, Robert   Platinum

Well, definitely not the desired result I would imagine.

Horrid.
How is Murphy even a platinum given he is 35, played only 3 games last year and has never averaged over 90 in his career bar the 3 games last year?

Probably cause of the last part of what you said :p

Rarities are done by what a player scored the previous year (for the most part). Just really unlucky to get Murphy. Can sell him for 50g if you want though, or trade him in the byes :p

Yeah that is likely the reason, but surely injuries are taken into account.

Had he played even half a year averaging 95-100 or had a history of platinum averages and was just underperforming so be it thats bad luck, but this is a player that is a platinum based on a 3 game sample and clearly should not be a platinum.

It feels like ive essentially traded in 7 golds for a player that should be a gold.

I made a number of manual adjustments to the rarities of players, eg. Jobe, JOM, etc, but other than that, cards were tiered by average or else it ventures into the area of bias which gets messy, we can't have 44 platinum players from Carlton after all  ;)

As GL said, Murphy's average last season was 102.0 and therefore landed in platinum defender. Sure, there's better plats, but there's also worse. Murphy is a platinum for all coaches, so he can come up for anyone else's platinum exchange as he can yours LS - you are not alone.
