Lobbe 2.0

HaHa, Lobbe may come out and bite a few people with Ryder yet. Doubt it, but ya never know.

Holz

Exactly

Currie did well today too, better than Witts

That isn't saying much considering Currie and Witts both got toweled up by Archie Smith in the ruck.

Lobbe 2.0

Lobbe was over 150k more in price. Picking Witts is the equivalent to picking a McGrath/McClugg. No way I would look at him as a R2 though, R3 he is still in the frame. There is still a long time until round 1.

RaisyDaisy

Split the webbing in his hand and won't play JLT 2 so only have one more game JLT 3 to see how he goes

Must admit I'm considering Witts at R2, will probably go down this path if Preuss & Spencer are selected. Reckon he's good for a 75-80 average and will allow me some time to assess the ruck situation. My guess is that both Gawn & Goldy will be sharing ruck duties, at least early in the piece, which means a price drop is on the way.

And what do you do when Nicholls comes back in Round 2 and Witts gets dropped?

You cry and waste 3 trades to fix the situation.

Swing Nank to the rucks & use Strnadica as a forward loop. Witts is rookie priced so should be viewed as a rookie with decent upside. The way I see it is both Taranto & Witts have questionable JS so it just becomes a question of choosing one over the other. Given the uncertainty with the rucks this year I'm inclined to pick Witts and then assess.

To fix it requires 1 trade, Nank to R2, Witts to Taranto. Given we generally allow ourselves a couple of correction trades I don't think this move is as reckless as some are making out. The upside is actually quite good when you look at the forward rookies & the ruck uncertainty.

That's assuming Nank is a good pick. If he fails you're stuck with Witts at R3 (which isn't terrible) or have to make 3 trades to dump both of them.

I know rucks are up in the air a bit but really Witts I don't care how cheap he is starting him at R2 comes across as a little bit desperate or naive

Nank will make money even if he's not a keeper. But in the end I'm happy enough to hold him all year in case Sandi goes down. With Hammer on the LTI list I think Nank is pretty safe in the short term.

Why am I considering this? To basically plug F6 which looks like being a volatile position.

He's just another rookie. One just needs to formulate a get out plan in case he gets dropped.
