If he averages 70 which is around what he averaged in 2014 and 2015 up until the Round 9 bye for the suns he will get to around 315k.

Downgrade him to an FD and pocket around 200k or keep him a cover during the main byes when he will play each week. Doesn't sound like a bad R3 option.

I woundn't pick him at R2 either.

You'd want him to be the number 1 ruck and playing across the byes to provide cover for all 3 weeks

Is Nicholls and Witts in the same team an option? Or are we all just assuming no?

I don't think it is with the other talls they have in the team, and I'd say Nicholls is #1 when fully fit. Could be wrong though :P

That 100k could be used to upgrade a glugg to swallow. A tmac to a shaw etc..

Just need that cash generating points on field as in this scenario you make 115k and burn a trade. Would rather use that trade to cut a rookie way too early like round 6-7.

Then of course downside of losing spot.

Based on what I am hearing plus what is going on at suns pre-season training Witts has gone ahead of Nicholls as number 1.

Given Nicholls injury problems at the moment I don't see him in the side at round 1 so it is Witts spot to lose. I am not locking Witts in to R3 yet but I am happy with my side at the moment. If he has a 1/2 decent JLT he will be in my side at R3.

Well with Nicholls injured, you would hope so :P

If Nicholls was 100% fit and Witts still got picked round 1, then I'd probably start him. But I really don't want to pick him and then see him either get dropped a few rounds in, or sharing the ruck duties with Nicholls and scoring poorly, so at this stage it's a no from me.

meow meow

Why not just go Nank instead if you're looking for a cheap ruck who'll be the #1 at their new team?

AaronKirk

After 1 quarter of a practice match you can put a line through Witts. He is getting dismantled by Archie Smith in the ruck.

There's a big difference. One guy is 160k with solid JS and would be on field, where as the other guy is 200k sitting on the bench with dodgy JS

I am not even convinced about his job security. All good I won't be picking him no matter what now but good luck

He's a placeholder, but obv he's a KPP too

Ideally, Hampton gets a good run at things, and other defenders like EVW, Stewart, Newman, Ryan etc all play
