Just at work thinking about SuperCoach and this bloke rolls through my mind.
I'll be doing my own research on him later.
But surely we need to consider him at 200k if he is going to be playing as number one ruck early in the season?
The round 9 bye is yuck but will his price fatten in time to be upgraded prior to then and it could work if you play your lycett/Ryder/nankervis cover forward and have reliable forward bench cover.
I have not jumped into the stats of him just yet but surely he has to be monitored particularly if it looks like Sandilands is under any sort of cloud for an early season start.

I've had him at R3 with Sandi at R2 all pre-season. I'm pretty comfortable rolling with Goldy and that combo.

Why is the round 9 bye yuck?

If anything, I see it as a good thing because he would be on the bench in round 9 anyway, but you now have ruck cover over all 3 bye rounds (If he is playing of course)

Quiet, if he is playing that alone + the price gains are well worth the extra cash on the bench at the start

I've had him in and out of my side over the past week - team looks so good with him at R2!

Assuming he rucks alone he could definitely be worth a gamble. He's obviously moved past Currie in the pecking order, but how far away is Nicholls? I read he's been injured majority of the preseason.

All we need him to do is fatten up enough to trade him to a Gawn/Goldy by his round 9 bye. Plus if picking him means being able to squeeze in an extra super premium in the midfield I'm definitely interested.

I started with Leuey last year as R2 and still have a bad taste in my mouth from that experience.. Couldn't deal with that situation again!

R1 Gawn
R2 Witts
R3 Darcy Cameron

F3 Ryder

Trading Witts/Cameron to Premo/Strndica when the time is right, or some combination of those players

Nicholls is at least a month away according to reports and without any preseason would be a risk.

I should of clarified my original post by saying he would have to be a consideration for r2.

I like this ^ am gunna give this a serious look. Having Ryder just for ruck coverage at F3 is worrying me, reckon a Toby Greene/ Devon Smith or similar would be better F3 and still have Rucks covered.

Grufflez

Would have to stand up against some decent rucks in JLTBTL W/E/WE/WE/E
who were actually trying to get a gig for me i need some idea of what he can do, preferring Goldy/Martin at this point.

What are people expecting him to average? If he doesn't ruck alone he's not even worth consideration but if he does I'm curious as to what sort of numbers people think he will put up?

Given Nicholls is injured with calf and hip flexor issues and could miss early rounds and Currie is battling knee tendinitis I would say it is a fair bet that Witts will be the lone ruckman for a good period of the start of the year.

Ok he is cheap and he looks like starting No 1 ruck but what is he going to score ?

RaisyDaisy

Cant see him averaging more than 75-80

Won't make heaps of cash - slow burn

His only appeal to me is the cover he provides, but I've got Ryder for that

Not worth R3 I think

R2 or nothing, if you think he can score ok and hold his spot and you gain more points elsewhere with the money you save starting him

That being said, why start him when he'll likely score average and has questionable JS when Sandi is only a bit more and is guaranteed to score heaps more

I'd take Sandi's injury risk and points over Witts JS and points

Some great points here.

I've been playing around with Witts in R2 and R3, and back-ups/loopholes in RU and FWD line.

Another option I have been thinking about is Sandi in R2 with Witts in R3 as cover.  No need for Ryder then, so he goes up to Caddy, or down to a mid-price/rookie.

I also like Darcy Cameron as an option early on (in R3, F8), who could be a loophole, or cash generation depending if he plays or not, similar to the role Cox had last year.  Then bring in Strndica for late season loopholing.
