There's the obvious risk, but because he has been out of the game (barely got into it actually) for so long, we can easily forget just how good he is

JOM was touted as being the next #1 AFL player in the entire game

90.1 average in his first year as an 18 year old then went 97.7 the next year at 19.

If he gets his body right this guy could honestly be a 125+ player he's that good

[/quote

Yep, he's a beast. It takes a lot of talent to average 90.1 and 97.7 in your first two years.

If he averages 125, hawthorn win the flag :P

Hawka

Well looks like he will get a run on friday !  ;D

eaglesman

Will become a whole lot more popular after Friday imo

Far too much risk involved.  If he really kills it early and looks like staying healthy, could bring him in later.

If you don't start him you don't pick him.

Im willing to take 3 midpricers max in my team as stepping stones, anymore than that are you need to get lucky with one turing into a prem as you will be light on either the top prems or rookies for Cash. The midpricers need to be ones that even if they don't become prems you will be confident they will generate enough cash and be easy to upgrade options.

At this stage I have Roughy, JOM, Beams and Swallow as options. Not willing to take Hibberd or Hartlett as if they fail then your stuck with a player not providing any benefit to your team. SAndi just looks like too much of a injury risk.
I have roughy, and swallow and probably going to take sandi over Smartin.  may consider swapping JOM for Swallow depending on JLT.   More than enough risks involved in these three.    Roughy is good chance to turn into
Ryder as well.

Bill Manspeaker

still too risky for me (AF not SC, not sure on his price for SC)

StuL

Just pick him or weep later.

Hawka

He was a big reason why we faded in the 3rd quarter
SC score wasnt amazing for one half but he is gonna be special

Not sure about weeping but he looked good out there tonight and scored appropriately.

Turned Roughy into Nankervis for now. I had him pre-cancer and he wasn't great. So what if he's cheap, if he's scoring 60-80? Plus, key forwards always suck, even Buddy can be all over the place. Will use the spot for a back up ruckman or a midpriced breakout contender now.

Roughy is captain, which means he will be determined, wont play permanent forward because of Gunston, Vickery and even Shcoenmakers
With Lewis and Mitchell gone and Hodge and Burgoyne getting on i would expect Roughy to take quite a few centre bounces as a midfielder
For his price it is a risk not to pick him

hawkers65

40% gametime, 12 touches, 8 contested with 5 tackles.

He's back in because of Bombers R1. A lot more upside than down at least to start.

Bully

Looking good, reckon he takes Murphy's position in my line-up.

Peter

Have to have JOM now - no longer a POD
