From afl website. Who's considering him? Can u fit  Swallow and/or Beams into starting squad?

BOOM Hawthorn recruit Jaeger O'Meara looms as a round one starter against Essendon after declaring himself in "really good nick" despite ongoing knee injuries that have seen him miss two seasons of football.

The former Gold Coast midfielder crossed to Waverley Park in last year's NAB AFL Trade Period with concerns over an ongoing patella tendon problem that hadn't allowed him to play senior footy since 2014.

Speaking at a club function on Sunday, the 22-year-old said he's feeling fit, and likely to be available for the club's JLT Community Series campaign that starts against Geelong on Friday.

I'm definitely considering him. I feel more comfortable picking him rather than swallow.

RaisyDaisy

There's the obvious risk, but because he has been out of the game (barely got into it actually) for so long, we can easily forget just how good he is

JOM was touted as being the next #1 AFL player in the entire game

90.1 average in his first year as an 18 year old then went 97.7 the next year at 19.

If he gets his body right this guy could honestly be a 125+ player he's that good

Damn. Although I guess his name was always going to be brought up. If he plays JLT he's locked in

Wonder how Hawks go about it though, and whether he starts of as inside mid.

Debut: 19 years 36 days with 2 preseasons into him. He's no Bont.

Doubt he'll play round 1, even if he does he'll be rested.

AaronKirk

He's been ready to go for a while now. Played well in the hawks intra club and all indications are he will be ready for round 1. If he gets through the JLT matches I will be picking him.

eaglesman

To be honest I would expect him to be highly popular come round 1.

Such an awkward price though

SydneyRox

No confidence he can get it done for the season. Much happier to be proven wrong than to take such a big risk

Far too much risk involved.  If he really kills it early and looks like staying healthy, could bring him in later.

If you don't start him you don't pick him.

Im willing to take 3 midpricers max in my team as stepping stones, anymore than that are you need to get lucky with one turing into a prem as you will be light on either the top prems or rookies for Cash. The midpricers need to be ones that even if they don't become prems you will be confident they will generate enough cash and be easy to upgrade options.

At this stage I have Roughy, JOM, Beams and Swallow as options. Not willing to take Hibberd or Hartlett as if they fail then your stuck with a player not providing any benefit to your team. SAndi just looks like too much of a injury risk.

Hawka

I had a little chat to him yesterday and he felt confident he could get up round 1
I think he will dominate but whether that starts this year i am not sure
But damn i really wanna pick him.

Yep, he's a beast. It takes a lot of talent to average 90.1 and 97.7 in your first two years.

A big risk and awkwardly priced but will see how he does in JLT and then make the call. It's a no for now though with Swallow in my team instead.
