I'm looking or some Suns players to increase output this year - I think they can

At the moment I'm looking at KK, JMartin & Witts

I cant see anything why KK dropped right out last year...or why McKenzie has gone from contention

Anyone else considering some Suns players?

I'm not interested in Barlow, Swallow is a lock, so is TMiller for me

I don't like KPP premiums like Lynch in my side generally but if the ball is banging on his head more this year, and with his undoubted talent, it could be a gamble that pays off

The rd 9 bye is a massive turn off for me.
If Cannon and KK turn it around then it would be worth it considering their price but I'm not confident they can
Touk and Lynch aren't cheap enough for me to be worth the hassle.
Just Swallow and the rookies for me at the moment. Will look at Touk and Lynch after the bye.

I don't give a bollox for the byes, I have spent years past trying to plan for them only to have it burn me massively every single time

Suspensions, injuries and the general always play a massive part in it and with the massive luck involved in SC (excluding your rd 1 team selection) I don't bother anymore - especially with the increased trades we have overall and during that period - a few years ago it was much more of a nightmare and it was deemed compulsory to consider IMO

If your not going to pick a player that is going to break out or maintain a high level of PPG@ Rd1 ( and they actually do this) then your getting behind the 8Ball to start with

If a player is averaging 110 after rd 3 and is looking to kill the pig all year are you not going to get him into your team because of his bye?
I hope so...cause that will be one less competitor I have to deal with to win the whole show

Your RD1 team is the most important strategy of SC if you want to win, after that its 90% luck IMO

Last year I didn't bother considering byes until maybe 2 weeks out and it worked out better overall at that bye period than trying to factor it in than the last 3 -4 years I tried to work around it with Rd1 team selection

You are getting Swallow and Miller and looking at getting KK Martin and Witts and if you have any Port players as well then round 9 you are probably chowing down on some doughnuts , as far as I can see round 9 is a normal round you have to field 22 unlike the other bye rounds so for me maybe 1 Suns player maybe none same for Port players

Ok ignoring the bye then

Touk: Don't see him averaging enough to be a top fwd and if he does get towards that 95 ave you want it won't be a huge loss not starting him

Lynch: Already priced above 500k, I believe he will improve a bit but I see him as an upgrade target

Witts: If named rd1 as sole ruck will be hard to ignore but I sdon't see that happening

Martin, KK, Cannon and any one else priced above Swallow: Not interested, can't see any of them becoming keepers

Overall there is just too much unknown with the GC team, Hanley and Barlow have joined, Prestia and Eski have gone and Swallow and GAJ should be back. I will definitely be keeping a close eye on them during JLT

Sorry mate but the RD 9 bye is different to the three later on.

Loading up on Port/GC players is doomed for failure.

Only ones I would consider are Bowes and Lynch. Too many question marks on the rest at this stage, will need to watch JLT form.

Just read that Swallow will play wing half forward.
Was hoping he'd play more inside. Could limit his output.

RaisyDaisy

Even if KK somehow averaged 90 (can't see it happening), that probably isn't even good enough for Top 15 this year

Ringo

Would not consider Witts - he may be named Rd 1 if Nicholls does not come up but will be out when nicholls is ready.

Yeah the AFL has decided to punish teams who are shower to watch, Richmond was very lucky to avoid this  ;D ;D ;D

But seriously they have their bye in rd 9 so they can recover from playing rd8 in China  ;D

Haha yeah I gathered it was because if the China gamebut just realised they have a round 9 bye but don't get a bye in rd 11,12 or 13 when the other teams do

The byes will be

rd9: 2 teams
rd11: 6 teams
rd12: 4 teams
rd13: 6 teams

Should make for an interesting year strategy wise!

Gr8 post. TY

I see the unknown as an area for potential breakouts (hey I'm a positive person!!) - hence why I'm getting others opinions

Interesting to read your view TLynch as a potential upgrade target, I don't read much anywhere of anyone considering him.....especially how JJK has started the last few years - KPP can give  you a good head start if they fire

I just think with most of the talent on the ground Rd 1 and their new club HQ, that could be a good recipe for increased success (CD output) this year

They have 1 of the best spines in the game that still has some small room for improvement (young)

Then theres on of god chipping in here n there with BOG......
