Zak Jones is at the worst price point possible but I'm a big believer in him so have slotted him in my team for now.

Caddy's form was the big plus in the Richmond game, looks set for a big year. He's definitely on my radar.

Couple from the Suns Intra club:

Suns have their best forward line matched agsinst their bet defenders. Split the mids. Two quite even teams.

Very competitive Suns intraclub. Jack Bowes was excellent, Will Brodie also very good. David Swallow worked in as it wore on.

No Ablett, Rischa, Harbrow, Wright, Sexton, Barlow, Nicholls or Witts today. Witts will definitely play Lions next week.

Hanley was good, as was Miller, and I thought Lonergan and Brodie made good cases for spots in a competitive midfield.

Finally from @GoldCoastSUNS intra. McKenzie (behind knee), Ainsworth (hip pointer) and Lyons (Achilles) all got niggles. Nothing serious.

"The changes include using defender-turned-ruckman Jackson Trengove as a key forward, midfielder Hamish Hartlett as a playmaking defender, triple club champion midfielder Robbie Gray more in attack, small sharpshooter Chad Wingard in a bigger on-ball role, defender Nathan Krakouer as a forward and Sam Gray as a half-forward."

"Justin Westhoff, who has played most of his football in attack, could also spend more time on the wing this season."

"Trengove and Ryder are likely to share the ruck duties this season, combining that with inside-50 marking duties."

Wow. A lot to take out of that ^^

Like hearing that about HH. And Wingard. Robbie to lessen his load by the sounds of it

Just quietly... the HOFF

This concerns me

Dunno why anyone is keen on Ryder

There's another bloke a little more expensive who can do the same role in your team who will outscore him all year. Just needs to be fit and named Rd 1.

Money Shot

What role did Hartlett play last year?

Wingard could be a nice pod.

Ryder who has always been on my watchlist is now pretty much off it.

Im happy about Wingard
Not sure what it means for Hartlett as its not a midfield role, He was playing the +1 and Wing positions last year.
Im looking at Power and GC players as upgrades, not starters though

Are you talking about Lycett?  The guy has never averaged more than 83.  Has had no pre-season and is coming back from a knee injury. And is more expensive.  Not sure on the appeal there.

Ryder has obvious upside if he was going to be sole ruck, but if that is in question, his selection at R2/F3 is in doubt.

Perhaps hes talking about

Goldy Gawn s.martin grundy

Or

Dahl buddy Macrae Roughy etc...

Ryder is irellevant in the ruck line and forward line.

The only relevant F/R is the 102k guy from freo.

I think with HH they're trying to give him more of a +1 role than they did last year. Actually get the ball in his hands way more often than they managed previously. Another 2/3 marks and kicks and he's closing in on a 95 average, quite enticing tbh

The appeal with Lycett? Maybe the fact that Naitanui who he's played second fiddle to all his career is out all year and the number one ruck mantle is his to lose? Pretty obvious the appeal man. If he plays ruck 1 he will score well. Last year had 16/21 scores over 70, 11 scores over 90, 8 tons playing 80% forward 20% ruck. Imagine the opposite. He's 202cm too, he ain't no dwarf.

Would rather Stef by far for another $30k more but he isn't a forward. If I'm running Gawn Sandi r1/2 I need backup. If lycett can go 90-95 he could be top 10 forwards.

RaisyDaisy

I was thinking about Wingard, and those comments have me even more interested, although I just can't see how I fit him in

Lycett can push 90-95 IMO

You need to remember that one of Giles/Petrie/Vardy will be backing him up, just like Trengove and Ryder will be

Honestly, I think Lycett and Ryder will average the same more or less. I don't really love either of them tbh, but I feel like I need a R/F in my forward line for cover because I really don't want to be burning a trade when one of my starting rucks misses a week or two

HH has been in my side since SC opened. I think he can go 90+. Won't be a Top 6 def, but won't be too far off and will be good for D6. His price of 423k, saving me 100k on the other prem def's is very handy to use elsehwere
