Don't understand all the second guessing going on

You're not picking Scooter to be in your team all year

He covers RD11 and RD13 and will make close to 150k very easily

Perfect stepping stone

M9 cover is a bonus

To me if you are picking Scooter now you need to be picking him as a M9 cover for the full year. Going to him as cash generation should only be done if you are in a really good position trade wise as it is essentially a sideways or upgrade from most of the rookies.

The bye cover is a really good thing and what is making me lean towards picking him up.

Can't see any difference between getting a 120k rookie who scores poor and makes 100k and getting Scooter who scores better and makes more cash

Like I said, M9 cover is a real bonus but it's his bye cover, scoring potential and cash generation which makes it a no brainer

Worst case scenario we tip in 100k more and upgrade to a full prem after the byes

I'm on board too, but worst case would be another ankle injury.  ::)

The difference is the Short Term use of the cash you save.

Everyone cool off then, I'd love to field Scooter over some half wit rookie this week and Rd 13.
Yeah like SPP so that's why he's out for Scooter. Have 20 playing this week after trades (pending Sandi). SPP may or may not reach his BE but most likely scooter be a better stepping stone to a super premo.

thats exaclty why im picking him up.

He is better then picking up rookies like Parsons, Murtimer etc..

Essentially do you pick up Perryman at 150k or Selwood at 280k.

Scooter will make probably as much cash and score better.

if there wasnt bye then i would be picking him.

Probably the opposing argument would be someone like Cousins who is just $102k and can quickly rise $150-200k if he can score in the 60-70 range.... but there's no guarantees of him maintaining that scoring or staying on the field. Selwood should play and be around the ball enough to at least score 70-80 each week, even if/when the crazy tackle numbers drop off.

Bully

Question for me is do I want Scooter or Gray for M9. There's also the extra match thrown into the equation. At the moment I'm liking Gray who has a really good run coming up.

Where's the extra $170k and why isn't that thrown into it?

Scooter + $170k v Gray? Option 1 everydaaaay

Also, the extra match of Gray vs Scooter isn't worth as much because everyone is fine for the R12 bye anyway, still a gain of like 60 points if Gray goes 100, but with the way he has been scoring could easily be a gain of only 20 points as well.

Would much prefer Wines over Gray as well atm.

RaisyDaisy

I was initially grabbing both Scooter and Gray, but am starting to reassess things and might pass on Gray

Scooter an absolute lock though

Ringo

Pickett or Barrett for me to Scooter is a win as he will  score better in Rd 11 & 13 and can sit at M9 after team finished.

Barrett has a BE of only 11 though - is it premature to trade him already before he's maximised his cash generation? Reason for asking is I am also tossing up this same trade and torn...

Depends on your bye situation and whether you're willing to spend so much to get Scooter.

You have to ask yourself that with extra money you save from trading Barrett instead of Pickett - a total $133k ($117k diff between Scooter and Pickett+ $16k from Barret to Scooter), whether it can be better used elsewhere and upgrade to a super premo instead...

I'm looking at it that Scooter will average imo 90 min compared To Barrets say 70 -  Barret predicted to only rise $35k compared to Scooters $135. So $100k plus points is a win.
